Mkhiky doesn't have to play for his national team, so I don't mind him starting at all. He will have time enough for rest afterwards.

For me, it's not about whether he'll get enough rest afterwards, but rather what shape is he in to play this game.

If he's tired or not at 100% I don't think we should start him just because there is a 2 week break coming. I think we need to play our best 11, taking into account fitness/etc. The Bologna game was a good example that playing starting 11 before the break isn't neccessarily the best option if those players are coming off a match played 3 days prior.

This is a different scenario though as we actually rested quite a few starters - Lautaro, Dimarco, Barella, Dumfries all had little or no minutes in the last match. I do think De Vrij should start. Thuram looked very tired but Sanchez also just started and Arnautovic has not played in 1.5 months - who knows, maybe Inzaghi surprises us and starts him here.

Either way, we need to take this game seriously and hopefully a convincing win.

De Vrij looking more likely to start over Bisseck/Darmian, with Dumfries seeming like he'll start.

TBH I understand not playing Bisseck against Soule (who is on an absolute mad one at the moment), but I'd much prefer Darmian against him rather than De Vrij.

Yeah I thought Bisseck handled himself quite well against RB Salzburg all things considered. I wouldn’t be opposed to see him starting again.

I do think Mkhi should start on the bench though. His sharpness and decision making has dropped off with Inzaghi relying heavily on him.

Hate to see this game is that late on Sunday. Was hoping for at least start at 18 if not earlier.

Because Thuram looked exhausted after the RB game, and the international break matters only for someone like Mkhitaryan, who doesn't participate or for the bench players. Hakan is still a starter for Turkey, so I don't see when he will get some rest.

True but we are truly fucked if we are starting to rest players for international break. Clubs are paying them.

Of course, don't play someone if he is rusty and not ready but resting them cause they will have to play for their NT before returning to us so we need to preserve them ahead is a big no no.

Hakan is too important for us, and he didn't rest much as well. I don't count those 10 min Asllani's time at the end of every game as a rest. So, I'd leave him on the bench against Frozinone, but Inzaghi won't most probably.

I'd say CL matches aren't tactically strict as Italian league matches. There's so much quality, entertainment and whatever else, but Italian teams are superior tactically which makes them VERY difficult to break, compared to others.
