Let’s talk about this on the pod. Does the opinion of casual matters? I would argue it does. Then comes the question, who gives a fuck about casuals? We aren't doing this for the casuals.
Edit. But at the same time, you are right. We need to beat Atlético if we want to take the next step and cement our position in Europe. It's just that it's not the main objective this season.
They’re already up 2-0 after about 20 min. He ain’t coming on in a stressful situation.Griezman gets rotation as he is not starting. He will sure will have to play in the second as Las Palmas is not an easy opponent this year.
The time and the teams form are completely different though. Against Real we were a bit surprised in the first game, and we didn't try too much in the last one. Now, our team is in the best form since the beginning of the season, and the moral is high after we have beaten Jube and Roma.We couldnt beat fucking Sociedad but people think we are favorites against Atletico lol
Morata is last player I am worried about. The time and the teams form are completely different though. I don't follow Atletico, but they will be without Morata, who seems to have a great season so far.
But WE ARE a top European heavyweight. Beating Atletico, who aren't a top European heavyweight doesn't really make us bigger. The first step to being a top European heavyweight.
There are teams that play a certain way that are bogey teams for us.We couldnt beat fucking Sociedad but people think we are favorites against Atletico lol
30% possession. 4-0 lead. Jihadi DiegoHope we dont gift them goals like Las Palmas is doing right now. What a comedy.
Are you sarcastic or what? Last 13 years (except last one) Atletico is def European heavyweight, not us.But WE ARE a top European heavyweight. Beating Atletico, who aren't a top European heavyweight doesn't really make us bigger.
They would always be the underdog here.
This line of reasoning made some sense when we faced Benfica. As much i hope that we do well in CL, we are all aware that our priority is Seria A
Also, sociedad whole setup was trying to fuck up the way we play, so much so they imo completely disregarded their own style, especially when we played them on meazza. I doubt atletico will play that way, they have much more quality to impose themselves and consequently leave more openings. The time and the teams form are completely different though. Against Real we were a bit surprised in the first game, and we didn't try too much in the last one. Now, our team is in the best form since the beginning of the season, and the moral is high after we have beaten Jube and Roma.

Oh yeah, they killed it last year in CL and we totally sucked. We should all be so afraid...as optimistic as I am about our form, this a coin-flip at best. Atletico are more expert than us in grinding out fixtures like this over 2 ties. But if we do get through here, I think we could do some real damage again in this tournament.
