Interessting that Sciacca and Donkor are the primavera players to be on List A. While MBaye, Costa, Palazzi and Bonazzoli are on B. Don't know if there is some "rating" in Mazzarris mind, because it doesn't make a reglement difference at all. But might be a little hint.

Is Costa first choice Keeper in Primavera at the moment?

Wonder a little bit why Mazzarri chose a 4th GK, 3 Defenders, 1 CM and just one striker.. Thinking of our situation in attack and from what i read about more or less promissing primavera strikers in our club, i could image that there might be possibility of laying weight on offensive part more in this List.

Its a lot more simple than that. I believe.

I think the criteria for B list players is quite low - whereas for A list players to be included its much higher. 3 years continuously at the club from 15 to 18. Most of those B listers wont have 3 years yet as they arent 18.

So I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this yet, but the Inter U-15 squad just won an under-15 competition in Europe where we steamrolled Barcelona in the Semi and then beat Juve 3-1 in the Final. So thats a promising sign coming from our youth, I guess this fits here in general discussion.

if you want to see some photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.803999826316825.1073742305.139132459470235&type=1

How is beating Barca after penalty shoot out equivalent to steamrolling them ??

Inter believe in youth system
By Football Italia staff

Inter academy director Roberto Samaden is delighted with the progress being made by his club at youth level.

Amidst all the criticism that Italian football is overflowing with foreigners and ageing stars, the official believes the Nerazzurri are on the right path when it comes to developing youngsters.

“In the last Italy Under-21 game, five of the starting eleven had come through our ranks here and a sixth lad of ours came on in the second half,” he commented.

“I don’t think there are too many foreign players in Italy; less than 10 per cent of Inter’s youth setup is made up of foreigners.

“It all comes down to individual quality at the end of the day. Our job is to ensure the lads develop in the best way possible.

“Inter are a club with a proven model and a very coherent structure, a club that is delivering big things in terms of helping young players grow.

“It’s no over-exaggeration to say that our youth setup has produced the most top players in the history of Italian football.”

Part of the Inter youth plan has seen a link-up with AC Prato.

“The President and sporting director Piero Ausilio wanted to start a strategic partnership with a Lega Pro club in order to give young players a chance to gain experience, so they are ready to play in Serie A as soon as possible.

“This year we’ve got five or six lads playing in the first team who came though the youth set-up.

“There are going to be a few more opportunities for them in the first team, thanks to the Europa League.

“Aside from Puscas and Bonazzoli, I’m also thinking about Camara – I think they’re ready to make that step up.”

Better fucking hope one of those three is ready step up as one of them will almost certainly be forced into action given how thin we're stretched up front.

In theory Camara is the type of player we could use the most. Not sure who's the most ready but it would be nice if he could offer some pace and skill.

The only thing I'm hesitant about with camara is I don't know how well his attributes will transfer to first team level already. He is quick and skillfil but against professional defenders rather than basically amateur ones, that may not be enough. I would like to see more of a physical side from him too

As long as just one of our forwards, Icardi, Osvaldo and Palacio is able to stand, there'll be no primavera players seeing any first team action.

You forgot Guarin, the SS in the eyes of WM.

Yeah but the logic with guarin is obvious

Look how often he shoots from range and it is too high. If he was shooting from inside the box it's probably at least a hat trick every game. Maybe two.

HAHAHA that's my bad, I read a headline on it in Italian and I guess it said "scored 4" it must've meant we scored 4 penalties. I had trouble finding the article again, so that's my bad. Oh well I like to believe that every time barca lose they got steamrolled, life's just so much better that way

Browha, how many of our primavera graduates have been at Inter youth systems for more than 5 years?

I noticed a lot of our graduates are scouted when they're already past the age we focus on technical skills. which suggests we do a decent job at finding talent, it's developing talent where we're lacking. i cant find any info on transfermarkt on our current primavera crop though, but im looking at benassi (17), puscas (17), bessa (15), longo (17), santon (14), crisetig (14), garritano (14), mbaye (16), duncan (17), obi (14), krhin (17), donkor (15), destro (14), donati (18), bonucci (18), balotelli (17)

what do you think? is it a problem with the academy or does italy just have a low amount of u14 youth players per capita? I also notice that most of the youth players that succeed here arent from lombardy (with a few exceptions here and there), vs atalanta, for example (who are in the area and have locals like bonaventura, consigli, gabbiadini from youth teams doing well in the league) - we only have caldirola off the top of my head (who came here aged 8). tho giovinco, marrone, marchisio all arrived at juve aged 8/9, so...

i feel its a little bit of both, with lombardy in particular possessing a low amount of very young youth players per capita. in other words, perhaps people usually join an academy when they're a bit older?

barcelona, for example, has a lot of continuity in their youth sides. fabregas, messi, pique etc all playing together for years (from the u11 to the b side) before they even got a shot in the first team. got to think la masia's systematic production of class players isnt just a coincidence (and that generation is no exception), a combination of the sheer numbers of youth players in catalonia (most youth players per capita IN THE WORLD) and their coaching methods. the former is also a characteristic of roma's youth sides. they have usually recruited from a fuckload of amateur clubs in roma (why the majority of the italian players in their primavera have been roman iirc), see aquilani, ddr, totti, cerci, florenzi, romagnoli etc

can you think of any possible solutions as well? ive got the feeling that kind of continuity in ouryouth system is impossible in lombardy, because there arent enough good youth players at that age, and scouting the best players that young in italy would cost too much (considering the risk).

dont italians usually start enrolling in teams later, especially in the north (mainly because its more affluent)? i find that poorer cities tend to have more youth football players (torino, napoli/sorrento, roma, etc). if so, maybe inter could do something to encourage grassroots football?

leave some thoughts, because im quite curious how you think the system is doing atm, and where we can possibly improve to become that much better.

- - - Updated - - -

edit; all our primavera players by age recruited that i could find ->

bonazzoli (7 years old :proud:, from lombardy), camara (17), ventre (17), delgado (16), steffe (16)

couldnt find ages of palazzi, di marco, de giovana, lomolino, di stefano, sciacca, di gregorio, palmieri, but theyre ALL from milan (with some from lombardy area) as well :notbad: (shit, maybe my post was fucken premature as hell - but what changed? how come all these milanese players start emerging now? what have we done)

to summarize this fucken incoherent post into a few questions:

1. what changed in the fact we have a lot more milanese players in the youth systems (what created more continuity)? And why are the vast majority of them defenders?

2. do we have a coherent philosophy tactical philosophy throughout? Similar formations, training exercises through the entire system like bayern+barca?

3. what method do you think would be most effective in producing good players? grassroots football (having players spend 10 years in the youth system), getting the best foreign youth talent (like roma has done recently), or scouting italy for the best talents? And for the last two options, in what age groups?

You're wrong.

If Guarin shoots it from 20m FURTHER away from goal, the ball will then have the chance to dip down. :datass:

Atalanta - Inter 1-3 1st half , bonazzoli and twice Puscas for us , and of course 2/3 assists from Camara. Those 3 are too much for primavera level

Puscas is scoring a lot of goals in these first matches! He, Bonazzoli and Camara are very talented! I hope that also only one of them will can play in Inter in the future!

That's the thing. Wasting top talent like Delgado or ventre on the bench for a year would be fucking retarded...
