I dont know de Boer personally, but from what Ive heard from ajax fans, is that this dude is strict when it comes to effort. He demands a lot, and doesnt put up with half-ass work. And truth to be told, at this point, looking at the efforts of those who even play, I wouldnt be surprised if Gabigol wasnt taking the trainings super serious.

29.5 mil and he needs protection and time. Gimme a break. I understand cultural differences and playing style but how does benching him, make him more adjusted to the game. Is he taking on notes on our recent brilliant performance? Is he running around more pylons, memorizing tactics in training or practicing his special move or a top secret formation? Probably not. Of course he didn't want Gabigol. We've been in touch with Gabigol even before Olympics. He was given Gabigol. But that doesn't mean he has dismissed Gabigol from the squad.
