The point is not whether or not he asked for Gabigol by request, but rather, he didnt want him even after he arrived

his brother just came out and said he didnt want gabigol

so all the theories about him 'protecting' him is just bullshit - as expected.

Is there a source for this ?

I heard an interesting rumour re Gabigol. Apparently in 2 months he has been the key reason 2 coaches have been sacked! Gabigol was the final straw for Mancini, who decided enough is enough when he asked for DM/CB and Inter wanted to buy Gabigol instead. And the final straw which got FDB sacked was him dropping Gabigol from the squad that visited Sampdoria.

That is quite a reputation this poor kid has inadvertently build - the coach-killer! :p

you said Ronald said Frank didn't want Gabriel. Then you connected it with an assumption Frank didn't like Gabriel even after he arrived. This is not the same if Ronald said Frank didn't like Gabriel. How could someone "didn't want" something he already has?

Here is the news.. Ronald's point was Frank didn't ask for Gabigol not whether he want him after he arrived or not.

De Boer 'didn't want Gabigol'
By Football Italia staff

Ronald de Boer reveals his brother Frank “had no say” in signing Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and accepting the job was “an error of judgment.”

This morning the Coach was sacked just 84 days into his tenure, having lost half of his total 14 competitive matches in charge.

“Of course I am disappointed and so is he,” Ronald told Sports Bureau.

“Frank was combative and convinced he could turn things around if he had stayed. Unfortunately, it went differently. He hoped to have success in Italy, but over the last seven days something changed.

“You must also look at yourself. Frank was unable to change the situation on the pitch, but it is also possible to point to several factors that made a big difference.

“The squad was not suited to playing his style of football and was also decidedly too big. There were seven or eight players who should’ve left or he didn’t want, but they didn’t sell any more than two.

“I include among these Gabriel Barbosa. Frank had no say in that transfer, so Gabriel just arrived out of the blue.

Inter spent €29.5m to get Gabigol from Santos, but De Boer only played him for a handful of minutes in one substitute appearance.

It’s reported the decision to not bring the Brazilian along for the Sampdoria game was the final straw for club owners.

“Frank thought he could just concentrate on the football, but in the end found himself having to deal with other indirect issues.

“We thought that Inter, being a big club, could be suited to him, but it was an error of judgment. It was an unfortunate experience, but an educational one.

“They say at times you learn more from defeats than victories. If he does go to another club, everyone needs to be more flexible.”

Indeed, but this is consistent with what we see about Gabigol subsequent. No game time, not even close to the first team, and dropped from the bench entirely when it is detrimental to the club. Going to a match with 11 on the bench rather than 12 for no good reason is just retarded.

Not that surprising. Gabigol was linked to us since last season and De Boer only came at the end of the transfer window. He had no say in any of the transfers.

i think its still a better option to some Serie B coach or a coach like Marcelinho who does not know the Serie A

I wanted de Boer to succeed here but from all the signs that were obvious we weren't going to with him

I want Vecchi to succeed in his 2 appointed matches because that means he can clean up the mess de Boer left... If we win tomorrow it doesn't mean we are eliminated, and if we win sunday against Crotone, we won't be too far away from the CL spots

Do you think I like our team to be losing every week? The worst coach of Inter has been de Boer, even worse than Gasperini

Edit

You can say we had a way of playing that was crossing balls to Icardi, but that wasnt getting us anywhere... Inter isnt known to be a calm team, we prefer results than gameplay...

Man, what are you talking about? :D

This mess you are talking about won' be fixed with some victories. It won't be fixed with some new coach appointments.

If we get a coach who harmonizes the squad and injects a bit of confidence into them, 70% of the battle will be done.

You mean to be almost eliminated from EL and too far away from Cl spots?

Confidence and harmonization is 70% of what this club has been missing in the past 6 years, man don't you get it?
