After 13 games, I can see de Boer's game is built around the following:
1. Possession football
2. Defending with a high line and strong pressing
3. Very active wing play
4. Strong overlaps by fullbacks
5. A midfield general who dictates the tempo.

I must say when he gets it right, which he has in quite a few games without necessarily getting the results, this Inter side is much more attractive and dominating than Mancini's side. Which also clearly leads me to believe that whatever problems we are having is a mental one, and some physical. And this is where De Boer's coaching skills really come into play: can he get inside the head of this team and give them a vision and clarity? This is what seperates a good coach from a great one.

You should also consider the squad he has at his disposal which is not the best to play the game he wants. He needs faster fullbacks, CBs who are better on ball and a director midfielder. Also it's obvious that he prefers to play with inverted wingers while our best wingers (Candreva and Perisic) are unable to do that.

I see quite a few managers/coaches/ex stars are of belief that FdB should be given more time in order to establish his tactics in the team.

I'm angry at him. It took a random event for finally not having medel on the pitch. We were so much better yesterday. However, I support de boer because I like what I am seeing. Imagine if he had had the chance to work on the team since july.

De Boer decision tomorrow
By Football Italia staff

Frank de Boer’s Inter future is still in the balance, with reports a decision will be made tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri hierarchy are in Italy for the shareholders’ meeting, which will take place on Friday.

Ahead of last night’s Torino game, it was reported that not even a win would be enough to guarantee the Coach’s future.

De Boer’s side did get a win, triumphing 2-1 thanks to a Mauro Icardi brace, but a decision still has to be made on the former Ajax boss.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the final decision will be made on Friday, with President Erick Thohir keen to hold onto the Dutchman.

Possible alternatives include former Paris Saint-Germain Coach Laurent Blanc, Stefano Pioli and most prominently former boss Leonardo, who is being touted by ex-President Massimo Moratti.
I am totally against firing the coach. But even if they decide to do so, it would be utterly stupid to do it before Monday. It makes no sense at all to play against Sampdoria without a coach.

If they did, this would be the worse decision made by this club EVER! & for this club that's saying something.

Mazzarri: ‘Everyone struggles at Inter’

De Boer has also been under pressure, and it’s not certain he’ll keep his job even after last night’s win over Torino.

Walter Mazzarri believes time has been kind to his Inter spell - “everyone after me struggled…”

The Watford manager was sacked by the Nerazzurri in November 2014, with Roberto Mancini replacing him on the bench.

After guiding the side to fourth in Serie A, Mancio was also replaced, with Frank de Boer currently the man on the San Siro bench.

“I was sorry not to have been able to complete the cycle we started, taking Inter back to Europe,” Mazzarri told Corriere della Sera.

“There was regret about not having been able to complete the job, yes. I’m used to looking forward though, and that’s what I did immediately.

“After me, everyone struggled in Milan despite more significant signings. Experience helps everyone to grow, but time is a gentleman let’s put it that way.”

De Boer has also been under pressure, and it’s not certain he’ll keep his job even after last night’s win over Torino.

“When a club chooses a Coach they should do so with conviction. Give him time to express his ideas about football.” - Walter Mazzarri!!!!

Basically everyone agrees that Frank should be given more time, even Gasperini, Mancini & Capello.

And please get him a translator until he feels comfortable expressing himself in Italian. 10q.

well of course mancini and gasperini and mazzarri owuld say that. They were sacked for being shit. None of the 3 of them would have gotten any better with more time, I suspect. Mancini possibly. And when Mancini is the top of a bunch of coaches, you know you're not looking at Mourinho and Guardiola.

Unfortunately this is real life and not every club can have Mourinho/Guardiola/Klopp as their coach. Not even Simeone.

Frank needs support and he has mine.
Players need to understand, assimilate and execute.
That costs time [and points also] - but even if we get Blanc or someone - same thing applies. Let him be.

If he goes back to making Medel an automatic starter in midfield then he deserves to be fired. I would understand if this comes from someone like Mancini, but for a coach who wants to install his ball possession ideas then he should never go back to Medel, specially after the huge midfield improvement yesterday. If he can't see this then he's just as visionless as Mancini.

I also dare to say that having Medel in a 3-man midfield makes us defensively weaker and leaks more dangerous and attacks for the opposition.

Pressure eases on De Boer
By Football Italia staff

Inter’s owners, the Suning Group, were reportedly happy with the performance against Torino, easing the pressure on Frank de Boer.

The Coach looked set to be sacked ahead of last night’s game against the Granata, and even after the 2-1 his future is uncertain.

However, Sky is reporting that the head honchos of the Suning Group have spoken to the rest of the Nerazzurri hierarchy, having arrived for tomorrow’s shareholders’ meeting.

It’s thought Yang Yang and Zhang Jindong, respectively director general and owner of Suning, were impressed with the Beneamata’s fighting spirit.

De Boer can therefore breathe a little easier, as President and minority owner Erick Thohir was already in his corner.

i disagree. Candreva and Perisic could act as inverted winger nicely. they use their both feet very well. they attract the defenders. good dribbling skill. nice shots.have eye on goal. good movement and positioning in penalty box. and they usually use intellegence

maybe the problem is they are not supported sufficiently by our full-back when we are attacking.

I didnt see the game last night, although would mostly agree. I dont think Medel would be necessary when you aren't playing any of the top teams and especially at home. Shame I didnt get to see it but like the reports I'm reading, such as this, of the midfield 3 and would like to see it again.

Medel was there when we played our best game against Juve and he played really well. Medel is not the problem, our mentality is.

What if we could have played even better with Brozovic instead of Medel against Juve? We never really know but I think it's a good hypothesis.

You mean Brozo who got hattrick with missing sitters last game?

Well jokes aside, please dont beso black and white. Medel is one of the most constant players we have. He always goves his all for 90 minutes. He lacks some qualities like every player. He just needs to be utilised the best way. Murillo is having a nightmare form so maybe couple games as cd.

Sure, we can use Medel as a CB. But midfielder... Its a nightmare. You can see the other players shudder to give him the ball, and it is for good reason. He will pass sideways, backwards, back to them, or lose the ball.

When you are in such an important part of the field, central midfield, a (possession-based) team needs more from that position.

Medel is a ball winner and not a passer at all. That is a big problem.I understand the enthusiasm about the midfield from yesterday but Wow Mario was caught in possession a few times and Torino were very bad in the 1st half. Can this midfield work when we do not have as much possession as at home and when we must chase and get the ball back?I hope so but lets reserve judgment till we have had a few tough away games.

I am still peeved with how clueless De Boer has been in fixing our defensive issues. Why are our defenders making silly mistakes in every game?Barca rely and have always relied on possession to mask their defensive brittleness. But this simply will not work in Italy and it was clear to me away to Atalanta that the moment a team can match us for possession and our defense has to deal with moments of sustained pressure it melts away.We will never make the Ucl where the defense is as brittle as ours. This can work for Ajax and Barca because the opposition is pinned in its own half way too often in their leagues against them.We will never be able to master this in Italy.Luis Enrique failed in this in 2 years at Roma and i am afraid De Boer will also fail with this. The defense needs organisation. It has been crying for an intervention since that Roma game and it has not been fixed.Yes we can blame the personnel but surely he can bring some kind of organisation to plaster over the individual deficiencies or else we are doomed this season. He needs to tweak his tactics to atleast ensure we survive till January and are still in the race for the Ucl spot or else this season is going to be over in November.

Inter '100% behind De Boer'
By Football Italia staff

Inter have held a shareholders meeting, in which CEO Michael Bolingbroke has indicated that the club are '100% behind' Coach Frank de Boer.

With three losses in a row before the Nerazzurri hosted Torino on Tuesday night, reports were circulating that the Dutchman would be sacked if the team lost against the Granata, but a 2-1 victory appears to have saved De Boer for now.

“As we said Suning is making a long-term investment,” the company’s Vice CEO Yang Yang told the meeting. “Football is a sub-sector of our group, and Inter is not the only asset as we also a team in China.

“It takes time, we are working hard, we chose Inter in Europe because we believe in this club, we have a quality team. Sometimes there are ups and downs in football, but underneath everything everyone is working to improve.”

President Javier Zanetti then continued, admitting that the hierarchy at the club have read reports in the Press over under-fire boss De Boer.

“There will always be difficulties, but we must know how to face up to them and start again, not only in football but in life in general. We must be on the same page, sharing the work. We have to find consistency, and we're trying.

"We read what you write in the Press and we assess it for information but it does not affect our work. We need to bring Inter back to being competitive.

"De Boer has come in this season, it is difficult for everyone, but we are 100% alongside Frank and it is important to state this openly because his task is not easy.

"When we have the winter break, he will be able to spend 10 days with players and will have time to reinforce his ideas. It’s a difficult challenge, but we are 100% at his side."
Fortunately, it looks like common sense prevailed.
