I'm gonna say that he was good, but this wasn't a commanding performance like how he played against Milan. Our players are looking tired, same goes for Dimarco, Darmian and Hakan.

Hopefully our missing players will be able to play on a high level, especially Dumfries and De Vrij. Can't wait for Pavard to be back as well.

I think he just struggles a bit against Immobile/Lazio. He was poor last season against them as well, kept slipping all over the place. Could be due to how things ended for him at Lazio, but also Immobile could be a bit of a bad matchup for him. Acerbi excels at dealing with physical strong strikers, even the pacy ones like Haaland/Osimhen. Immobile's style is a little different and mostly about movement and running in behind so there isn't much of the physical battle that Acerbi enjoys.

I fault him for the second goal for sure. He is absolutely doing too much Lucio things and I'm not living for it. If it annoyed me in the tripletta season, you know goddamn well it's going to annoy me nowadays. Zirkzee cooked him with one move.

Well, I dont think that Zirkzee would cook him in first half time like that. He was dead tired in extra time, and when you are dead tired and you cant run you can forget about being focused. Acerbi, same as Darmian, needs a fucking rest.

Not sure where we can legitimately find a replacement for what he brings to the team. They don’t really make defenders like him anymore. Guys who actually enjoy defending. This might be the toughest task for Marotta and Ausilio in the coming years.

That tackles was something. Soft, elegant and accurate.

Not only for his defending masterclass, but also for his commanding presence as a centre back. He's constantly directing and shouting, as if he's demanding more focus from the entire squad, not only his defensive partnership but from GK to the strikers. It's almost like having a coach on the pitch. Perhaps he'll coach a squad in the future.

In addition, despite his health background, he is naturally fit even in a match-packed schedule. Yeah, playing at the Central Centre Back may not require as much running and coverage as our LCB or RCB, but we can typically notice his mobility isn't static. His ability to read the game is superb.
