Buying Garay, let alone trading Murillo for him, would be just hysterically shit.
The only logical reason for this move would be to satisfy the proverbial FFP - we obviously have to sell someone in order to make business in the transfer window.

On swapping Murillo with Garay tho I completely agree, idiotic trade. Garay hasn't played more than 10 matches for three years in a row and we're talking about Russia here, plus he's practically 30.

Also updates on the situation Jeison Murillo and Ezequiel Garay. According to reports Sky Sports the club's apparently continued contacts with the Russian club and hopes to close the deal in the coming days.

TS - Ausilio will go to Russia for the switch Garay-Murillo
Tuttosport focus on Piero Ausilio's trip to Russia, where he'll meet Zenit St Petersburg's management and he hopes to come back with Ezequiel Garay and a few millions. Negotiations could involve, besides the Argentine central back and Jeison Murillo, Stevan Jovetic and Alex Witsel too. An alternative to the Belgian midfielder is Jiangsu's Ramires.

Ive said it before as well. The only issue I have with Garay is his compatibility with Miranda. Is he really the defender we need? Can he work well with Miranda?

I have no problem selling Murillo, let alone for 30+ mils. And Garay is far from bad player, i loved the guy in Portugal. But i really do not think he is suitable to play alongisde Miranda, and under Mancini. The transfer itself would be great, if we dont take into account what we actually need.

^ I hope Garay and Miranda can make the DUO that we need, we all know what is the key in Rube team!

I don't get it what we are getting from Garay that we don't have with Murillo?

I don't believe that Murillo would want to go to Zenit. Usually older and mid-age players are going to Russia. Murillo is a young promissing player who can be transfered to some of the biggest european clubs in future, but if he go to Zenit he can expect his career to go only downwards from there. If we really need to sell Murillo I would prefer that to be for some good money, not some swap deal. Then we can buy some solid centerback who doesn't cost much.

WTF? How does Samuel and Lucio having a good partnership prove that Garay and Miranda will form a good partnership?

Pajo already said it. Garay has quality but this is a shit deal. It breaks a good defensive partnership, and releases a young player with both talent and the quality to play for us right now for a soon to be 30 y/o defender that looks incompatible with our other CB.

Reminds me of another Materazzi-Mihajlovic partnership nightmare.

The financial excuse is BS. They have enough money to sign Melo, give Mancini a contract extension with ridiculous wages, extend Naga's contract and even give him a pay rise, extend Palacio's contract, sign 100 fullbacks every year... but when it comes to promising players like Murillo, they are trying their best to get rid of him. Wtf is that logic?

Murillo fuck the deal, he dont want to go to Russia even for 3,5m wage (now he gets 1.5m) and we cancel our trip to Russia! Corriere dello Sport. He want to go to a bigger team Arsenal etc... Thats not mean that we are off for Garay! Bayern wants Murillo to replace Benatia, Arsenal wants him too!

They use it as an excuse to sell players Manshitni doesn't like. Like last year with Shaq and Kova, but somehow we still signed 11 new players even do we didn't need that much. Manshitni logic. This year we don't more than 3-4 new players but we already signed 3 and knowing Manshitni that number will be much bigger at the end of August. We won't have the first line-up again till the January, Manshitni will blame players and he will want new transfers again.

losers can always find excuses,
Last year:
year 0
we have 11 new players
we have too many young players

next year
buy toure: we are not strong enough, we need more players to UCL, we have lots of new players
not buy toure: I dont get the player we want, we have too many young players

TS: Murillo-Garay swap still a possibility
Jeison Murillo has made it clear that he wishes to remain at Inter and Tuttosport report that this doesn’t mean the end of the pursuit for Ezequiel Garay and both could still be swapped. Inter also want 10 million on top of Garay to let Murillo move to Zenit. There is also the chance of Stevan Jovetic and Axel Witsel being exchanged but the latter’s high wage may stop the deal happening. Watford are willing to pay up to 10 million euros for Juan Jesus in wake of Roma’s return for the defender but the capital club only wish to loan him.

Argentinan/Brazilian combo, how can that not prove they'll form a good partnership, what other proof do you need?

I can't say I blame him. Milan is a nicer place to live.

The only career advantage he would have over at Zenit is playing in the CL, but he's already getting a lot of exposure with us.
