Name in home country: Ezequiel Marcelo Garay

Place of birth: Rosario Argentina
Age: 29
Height: 1,88 m
Nationality: Argentina/Spain
Position: Defence - Centre Back
Foot: right
Player's agent: Gestifute
Current club: Zenit St. Petersburg
In the team since: Jul 1, 2014
Contract until: 30.06.2019

Tuttosport: Garay arrives on a free transfer!
Ezequiel Garay could soon become an Inter player. The Argentine defender, 29, asked the Zenit for termination of contract because it aspires to move to Milan and put at the disposal of Roberto Mancini: the deal, as we read from Tuttosport, would be well under way and no one sees obstacles that might complicate the operation to succeed.

All media confirm that Garay wants Inter!

We want 20m for Murillo, Zenit wants him and deal can be 20m + Murillo from Zenit!

So why don't we simply pay him the contract termination fee and get him for cheap, instead of sacrifice Murillo?
Gentleman behavior again with Zenit? (like in Pogba case)

As reported by Paul Bargiggia in the Premium Sports Studies, Inter is now on the verge of closing for Garay. Murillo ready to move into Russia. The Nerazzurri, will receive 10 mln and Garay for Murillo.

The Colombian defender has already find an agreement for a four-year contract with Zenit.

That's a fucking retarded move with those figures. Jesus christ!

Swap your 24-year-old CB for soon-to-be-30-year-old CB and get only 10m€ premium. Who the fuck negotiate these deals?

It's a rumor from Barggiggiiaaa the worst reporter I've ever seen...
The dude is openly anti-interista because his kid didn't make it at Inter
His credibility thus is 0

some other reports told 20m + Garay for Murillo that is better!

10m or 20m i prefer Garay over Murillo who failed and Mancini have not trust in him anymore!

Honestly if Garay is that much of an upgrade I don't have a problem with the deal. However he better really be an upgrade, not just a more experienced player.

Murillo is still a little raw but it's obvious he's got the tools. If we stick with him he will develop a lot next season IMO.

Murillo didn't fail last year. Far from it. He actually had a good season considering his age and that he came from a different league. He will develop into a very good defender in the upcoming years if we stick with him. Regarldless, replacing him with Garay would be totally mad! They're completely different as defenders. The combination of Garay and Miranda will be really slow. That deal doesn't make sense. At all! I really hope it's just media bs.

I don't think this is a question of upgrade. Inter need to make some "profits" so that BigDong can invest big time in this transfer window. The players in our squad who can give us sufficient "profits" are:

1. Perisic
2. Icardi
3. Brozovic
4. Murillo

So I can understand why Murillo may be our preferred "sacrifice".

But to make profit, you then have to actually get some profit. +10m€ is hardly a profit (apart from the books).

Though if money is irrelevant with the Chinese in the future, then guess it's all the same how much were gonna get.

Murillo has to say yes and he won't say yes to going to Russia.

How has Murillo failed? He is one of the few player on our team that will get us a decent transfer amount. He has a lot of room to grow but you don't think he is better then Rano or Juan haha

Apart from the books? I think you have missed the point. It is precisely BECAUSE of the "books" or rather the P&L that impacts FFP.

If we sell Murillo for an inflated €35m (and buy Garay for €15m) as is suggested in the rumours, we make a huge profit on Murillo (about €29m) in our P&L. If we offer Garay a 3 year contract, his annual transfer cost will be about €5m. That still leaves €24m of "profit" to invest into other transfers this summer. Theoretically, BigDong can stretch that €24m to invest upto €96m on transfers this year (assuming 4 year contracts on average and everything else remaining same). Practically this value may be lower because of wages or existing FFP deficit, but you get the point?

For how long will you people keep staring yourselves blind at the reported transfer prices, and completely ignore what type of player Garay is? I'd imagine how he plays out on the field, is much more important than whether we get a profit of 10 million or 15 million for selling Murillo. And that's why I'm sceptical of this deal.

The reason why Murillo - Miranda worked so well (all in all), was because they complemented each other so well. Having two, lumbering, relatively slow defenders is never going to work - even at Atletico, renowned for being (probably) the best defensive side in the world, Miranda - Godin began to show weaknesses for being not athletic and quick enough. And don't let me spoil the surprise, but it's not going to work in a Mancini-coached side either.

If we do intend to sell Murillo, I'd much rather we play Juan - Miranda, but I can't imagine that Garay's going to be happy about sitting on the bench too much + playing in the EL. If, on the contrary, he would be, then I'd be content with this deal too.

if his positioning is half as good as mirandas positioning is, they will work perfectly together.
look at juventus where none of chiellini, barzagli and bonucci is known for being pacey, but yet they are one of the best defenisve lines, because they are perfectly organised.
another example for that is lucio + samuel.

murillo is a player with endless potential and had an overly positive season, but you cannot overlook the massive positioning mistakes he had. if the deal is really 20 millions plus a player who is capable enough of replacing him instantly, i would take the money and run.

I understand the need to sell Murillo, as if we get a large enough transfer sum for him, the sale of him can almost single-handedly balance our books.

This proposed transfer however makes zero sense.
