There wasn’t really a loads of good goalkeeper available, there where a couple of talents and past prime ones, but besides that it wasn’t like there was lots Inter could have done differently on that position.

Trubin is still just a kid, there absolutely no guarantee he would actually ever be the keeper he has the talent to become and he need playing time, but would you have a 22 year old with little experience on higher level be your nr. 1. Secondly Inter didn’t have the plus 20m asked so it’s a bit of a mute debate.

Also with how Stankovic performed at the summer friendly he showed he might actually turn out to be worthy first keeper in a couple of years, so why spend large if you might already have a future keeper in house?

Also this bloke is a second keeper, doesn’t really have to be all that great, just decent in the 5-6 games he likely play.

Who knows, maybe management sees something in the Brazilian keeper we were linked with (Bento?) hence taking a low-cost deal now. To be fair, given our financial situation it would make 0 sense to spend decent money on a backup goalkeeper, unless we were to get someone talented that is to take over as 1st goalkeeper. With Trubin, it didn't seem too realistic given that I'm not sure he would have been as willing to be Sommer's backup for an entire season.

In hindsight he could have sacrificed himself with a red and just make sure it drags out to penalty. (I reckon we could still make a sub?) But no backup goalie would do that cos he'd never play again. And frankly not sure if Di Gennaro was ready to play football, let alone handle a shootout lol

Ah, lets not blame him, our defense was daydreaming at both goals, actually i was impressed with his ball control, i remember he took down a 70m something high ball like it was glued to his foot. Too bad we got kicked out of Coppa so soon, i dont think he will have another chance, just if god forbid, Sommer gets injured.

All subs were made so I dont think it would help us if he got red card and saved a goal. Who would be our keeper for penalties, maybe Sensi

He was alright today. A few precarious situations. Some of his own making others from teammates. Looked a little rushed sometimes when he had the ball. However, Bisseck put him in a few uncomfortable situations.

His best decision of the night was when he crept up and played sweeper on the long ball over the top. It looked like our defender was beaten and it was going to be a 1 v 1 if he stayed back.
