But they try to give him exactly this role. Back striker behind Lautaro and Lukaku. The problem was Lukaku, who was completely useless.
A Dzeko who plays 20-30m per game could theoretically give us for the whole season the output he gave us in the first part of the season. Running him like an work horse and his tank is empty after half of season, which is absolutely normal for a 37yo player. This happened both years.

Problem is he is charging like a Key player that scores 20+ goals a season, and yes some of the useless fucks are up there too.

I rather use that money to sign Arnautović or Firmino, less for more as a rotation striker; but the best choice is just use Carboni and give that contract money to Bastoni, or even train Dumfries to play striker instead.

The problem with Dzeko is his salary. In our financial situation 5m net is way too much for a 38-year old backup forward who only shows up for half a season. It shouldn't be more than 3-3.5m.

Dzeko is a Worldclass Striker. Scoring since 15 Years. Top 8 Scorer in 21 Century. Was best Striker in Germany , Italy and Champion with City. Scoring over 67 Goals for his National Team. This Season he is also better then Lukaku and for me he is better Technical Player then Lukaku. Lukaku have only much Pounds and he is like a Tank. I am happy when Dzeko stay at Inter 1 Year more. If Inter dont reach Top 4 CL then Dzeko, Bastoni , Calhanoglu will go i think to Teams with CL. Without Dzeko Inter will stay this Season on Place 7 . He scored Important goals with good Teams like Napoli , Roma and Supercup vs Milan and also scored in CL. No worrys about Dzeko, he will score again. For his age with 37 years and his experience he is top. On first Saison he was top and after that all Strikers in the Squad also martinez,dzeko and lukaku dont score so much. They will score ...

Looking at how he gets frustrated whenever he gets subbed out, I don't think he is agree with a backup role.
