Defenders for the summer market

Latest I saw Luizao few match(for Benfica,Brazi NT). not great. not very good. I'm very disappoint Luizao. same Roque Junior.

6m+Karagounis for Luizao? probably wasted money. PLZ no Luizao.

He played in todays qualifier against Uruguay. I say I wasnt too impressed, he was not exactly pacy and lack the poised of great defenders. Heck Lucio looked like Nesta playing alongside Luizao. :dielaugh:

King would be a good option. But I am not convinced he is better than burdisso. In european terms he has proven more. But Burdisso has proven a lot in south american football. Maybe this 1st season was just a adjusting period for him.

But of those available king,juan,chivu and maybe kompany are the only 1's we should consider buying.

Ohhh I really wont Ledley King, he is extremly awesome, before this season I had put him on the top of my wishlist. Unfortunaly we didn't go for him :depress: , I would for sure prefer him over Chivu and Luisao even Samuel at any time. If we get him I would not complain if it meant that Burdisso had to sit on the bench...

King and Chivu are 2 very different players. Chivu is elegant on the ball, and pleasing to the eye.

King just gets the job done! and i dont know, id take any. but its just hard to ignore Matrix and Burdi

Recoba I talk about alot because he basically causes so many debates and for me is such a great player. Ledley King is a defender that is getting more appreciation now so theres no need for me to defend him, Carlton Cole as you know I used to be in the same school as and he is extremely lazy.

Helal I think you may be confusing Gardner for King as they look similar from afar, King is very composed and the best footballing defender in the EPL along with Rio. Both footed too.

I remember we were linked to Pablo Ibañez, which I thought wasn't that good to deserve to play for Inter......but I saw him playing with Spain this last week, and OMG he is really awesome, I saw Luizao too, and Ibañez, from what I saw, is much better.

I think, now that Kompany is not coming (I think) we should buy, apart from Luizao who is a done deal, Barzagli or Ibañez, so would have:

Cordoba
Chivu
Ibañez/Barzagli
Burdisso
Materazzi/Miha/Gamarra

If we get this defenders, I would play Chivu as LB with Potenza as backup, and Ibañez/Barzagli alongside Cordoba, with Burdisso as backup.

Samuel would be cheaper, He made a bad career move going to Madrid and has not been in his Roma form so his value has decreased plus King is English and younger at 24.

King is the best CB avaliable that isn't playing for a CL club. And after the season he has had I would say anything between 28million euros and upwards.

Andrade? Milito? Ibanez? Barzagli?
As much as I think King is a good defender, I think he is slightly over-rated...from what I've seen he is a bully (by bully I mean he does very well against the lesser like teams strikers) and often struggles against the big guns- Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle...but he has done welll against United.
I doubt Inter will pay more than 15 mill for a CB this season, that's why I still believe that whether some people like it or not, Luisao move is a guarantee.
