Yeah what about them? Your honeslty not comparing them to King are you? There is not one area that he doesn't beat those guys in.

Seriously man I think you need to watch more of King and like I said don't confuse him for Gardner(got potential but not as good) BTW he was the man of the match against Chelsea and had Drogba in his pocket earlier this season in Stamford Bridge so I don't know how you can say he doesn't perform against them. He was also great against Man Utd at Old Trafford where he was also man of the match.

Think about it the guy is doing well to even get this repuation at a mid table team like Spurs, Terry is good but not as good as King and if you look at the work each player has to do its obvious that Terry would mkae more mistakes and score less goals at Spurs, They keep the ball and they cover him like mad, He spends 90% of the time heading the ball and since they have so much possesion he is allowed to move forward and get goals from their many corners. Its a completely different situation to King at Spurs yet he still got the EPL player of the month award earlier this season(A award given to CB's only 3 times in the last 4 seasons)

I honestly can't belive how you think this guy is overrated, Overrated compared to whom because you have to tell me what he is up against? Barzagli? Andrade? Seriously man chill on the CM and watch the guy abit more and Im not sounding arrogant but I know 100% if this guy was French and playing at Parma or something everyone would be raving on about him. I think its you that underrates him for sure and theres no doubt he is the best defender not at a CL club. If he played for a CL club then he'd be even better.

His problem is that he is crap infront of the media, Doesn't sell himself and is too too shy IMO he should be starting along side Rio for England. Rio-Terry or Rio-King? I know which one I would prefer to face if I was a striker.

BTW I didn't bring the guy up Frisko did :p

Thanx for the update on him Faisal, I honestly didn't hear of him for a while. I was surprised to hear he got the EPL player of the month award. Usually, they announce it on websites when a striker wins it, I follow many sites and don't recall hearing it in a headline or something.

I guess you are dead right he isn't a media guy. Sometimes you need that to get your image boosted, but I resepct his choice though, seems like a humble man.

BTW Faisal, where do you rate the EPL as a league among Serie A and La Liga? Just wondering, we had a debate here about it.

If your talking about Ledley King he won it at the start of the season, For a defender to win it even in the top 4 clubs is extremely rare but to win it as a defender in Spurs says alot. link

Well it is a matter of taste but the hardest to win?

1.SerieA
2.EPL

3. La Liga

But like I said this is only how tough the league is, I can't say which is the best to watch for everyone because you have to take in many factors and personal tastes but I think SerieA followed by EPL is my favourite to watch then La Liga but thats just me.

IMO the highest level of football for club or country is played in the Champions League[/url]

El Chino Recoba Spot on... I agree in everything you have written, people should watch him more before they write somthing bad abouth him. All those games I have seen him he had been one of the best players on the pitch. And I can't recall any game where he had played bad. Anyway I rate him very high, even higher then some of those defenders who are considered worldclass. I would give a shit abouth Burdisso if we got him, cause he is way better then Burdisso.

He won't be cheep.... I guess he will cost abouth 20-25 million.

As they would say in Milan: E la Madonna!!! (It means something like: Are you crazy??!!!)

25 millions? How much would you rate freaking Samuel then??

ledley king 25 million! whoawow

lets just show u something.

Samuel (Roma Form) = 25 million
Woodgate (Pre injury form) = 14 million
Cannavaro (all recovered ;) ) = 10 million

And these arent guesses, this is what they were sold for. so i think maybe 10-15 for king.

More on King from soccernet.com. And would someone familiar with the empirial system decifer his weight to metric system. Why can't England abandon that? Also, I didn't know he got injured in some occassions, that's a no-no for an inter newcomer, we are the injury club:

26 - Ledley King
Club: Tottenham

Shirt Number: 26

Position: Defender

Date of Birth: December 10, 1980

Birthplace: London

Height: 6' 2"

Weight: 13.8

Profile

Earmarked as a star of the future, King has been praised for his poise and calm approach in defence.
He made just one full appearance in 1999/2000 as Tottenham won 1-0 at Derby, after which injury problems curtailed his progress.

But his strength and growing confidence meant it would not be long before he was pushing for a regular place. And he found a new niche in midfield in the 2000/01 season to become a regular in the side.

King scored his first ever goal in a 3-3 draw at Bradford in December 2000 - and it was the fastest goal in the history of the Premiership!

Sol Campbell's exit to Arsenal gave King the opportunity he needed to return to the heart of the defence and become a real rock.

Formerly an England Under-21 regular, he was set to make his senior debut against Holland at the Ajax Amsterdam Arena in February 2002 but had to pull out after picking up an injury.

He finally made his bow the following month as a half time substitute for Campbell and picked up another cap in the friendly against Australia at Upton Park in February 2003.

He was shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award in the 2002/03 campaign, when his season came to a premature end due to an Achilles injury.

The 2003/04 term saw him come on leaps and bounds - but back in a holding midfield role rather than defence. He also started his 100th Premiership game, and signed a new four-year contract.

King was named in England's squad for Euro 2004, largely due to the injury and suspension hoo-doo which struck the nation's centre-backs.

And when John Terry pulled a hamstring in the run-up to the opening game of the tournament the defender was thrust into the fixture with France. The Spurs man was superb alongside Campbell even though England threw the game away in injury time.

Although he returned to the bench for the rest of the tournament he enhanced his standing in the game massively.

That's him, spot on. He would be worth every penny we spent on him.

Are you kidding me mate?
Sure you can say he's better than Milito and Bargagli, I'll give you that.
But King better than Andrade?
The same Andrade who was voted the best defender in La Liga last season, the same Andrade who was runner-up in the best defender in the CL last season, the same Andrade who was brillant for his country at Euro (eventually knocking out King's England) and the same Andrade who for a big man is unbelieveably quick, strong and the complete monster? You've got to be sh1tting me- the guy who has easily disposed of the likes of Ronaldo, Torres, Baptista, Eto'o, Mista, Di Vaio, Raul, Kluivert etc etc
I said that King was brillant against United, he was good against Chelsea too, but he makes some silly mistakes....like the Chelsea game at WHL...gave away the penalty. Against Arsenal at WHL, he was poor...how can you say he was brillant? I said he was a very good defender, but the English media builds him up a little too much, I think even he would agree on that.

Catanha I think its a case of you overrating Andrade rather than King being overrated. He is a better defender and better player and the fact that you bring up that penalty against Chelsea where Smertin dived says alot. He has been outstanding this season and by far Spurs best player but that doesn't mean he has been faultless. There isn't one defender in the EPL that has been faultless.

Injury prone? I don't know what King this is the guy has played every single premiership game this season for Spurs. Even when he has too much games in his muscles he still carrys on without complaint.

Like I said not one game missed in the EPL, I might of jinxed him now but belive me he is a very consistent player. In previous seasons he got a injury but its nothing to get worried about.

Adriano Im glad you see what I see in the guy, Im not saying he is the best in the world..yet but no doubt a top10 defender. Blatantly better than Terry for me just has more work to do at Spurs.

The Dafoe link ain't working.

Do you have a link to the bit on the news of the world? Also, do you think Spurs would sell him? They are a wealthy club and don't noramlly sell players. Although I was surprised they got Naybet when they had King and Gardner.

Well the ex manager Pleat last season played King as a DM because they had no real depth or strengh there and they conceded alot of goals at the back last season. Garnder is a player with potential but not on King's level and someone like Naybet brings in alot of experience and to be fair to him he has done well this season along side King even though his lack of pace has been a problem, Anyway I think it really depends on where they finish this season. If they don't get into the Uefa cup then I can see him leaving but his pricetag is the real problem and only the rich clubs have a chance with him.

Do you remember Mourinho after Euro2004 talking about the English talents he was after but was put off because of their pricetags well reports say he was talking about Ledley King so he got Carvalho and for me he probably regrets it.

To judge King you should watch him over a course of say 5-10 games as he could have a off day or whatever but judging him on a game here and there isn't really fair IMO, I'd say he has been very consistent but he would be better at Arsenal or Inter.

Inter Milan are poised to bid £16m for Tottenham defender Ledley King. (News of the World)http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/4405285.stm well I didn't get the paper but this is the rumour, Probably BS but it would be a clever buy from Moratti

I bet if you stop supporting Recoba for a season, he'd be FIFA PTY. :D

Thanx for the link, and yeah, he seems to be great. I usually ignore EPL games although we get tonnes of them here in Canada. I will try and see how good King is, but he seems brilliant.

About the rumor, Moratti is a fan of english players, so I won't be shocked if he goes for King. I'll hope so now that I know more about him, he also seems a decent guy in terms of conduct. We will see.

First it was Kompany, then it was Luisao, after which Samuel and Chivu. Now it's King.

Anyway, King is a good defender, no doubt about that. He's one of Tottenham's star players. I think he started all the games for Tottenham. His debut for the England was quite good, getting on the scoresheet in the process. He's big and tall, and can marshall the defence well. He'l be a great partner for Cordoba.

But, the problem now is who we are getting, and not who is better. Moratti would probably go and buy Chivu instead.

Over-rating Andrade? I don't think Andrade is even rated by most futebol supporters.
How anyone can tell me that King, is better than a defender who won the best defender in La Liga (in his second season, first interupted by injury throughout) and has bitch slapped the likes of Ronaldo, Ruud, Raul, Baptista is not a better player than King? :scared:

I just hope you're not some 16 year old, Recoba.
