Probably because we didn't used to score or win in his time ...

Anyway congratulations to Ranieri so far. I'm accepting these kind of games for the moment with poor playing quality as long as we are getting the result but once the midfielders come back from their injuries i expect more from this team

Yes and that is a good sign here. Leo got a lot of hugs, but he isn't 1% of Ranieri tactically. So this bodes well for us.

i dont think ranieri has done anything that leonardo didnt do.

leo came in, put the players in their preferred positions and played the in-form players over the ones that weren't. and leonardo's inter racked up points at a greater rate than mourinho's.

who knows, if ranieri can rile up inter's indomitable spirit, who's to say he can't do one better than leonardo?

I know we've just played 2 games with him (both away games with injury problems) but I'm really starting to become a fan. I hated the idea of seeing him with us first but boy, shit has changed. For the short period he is the man in charge, one couldn't do a better job.

Give him a full squad with no injuries (specially Maicon & Wesley) & I'm positive he has the potential to achieve great things with this team.

Grande Ranieri.

I don't see Ranieri has turned Inter into any better yet. He just did the basic what everyone needs to do at Inter. If Gasperini did what Ranieri has done, Gasperini will be liked by many fans and Inter would be top of the league. Unfortunately, Gasperini chose to be Benitez instead continuing Leonardo.

THE GARAGE OF RANIERI

Seven pieces are in the right place. And so this Inter were repaired.
Before his debut the coach said: "We will return to the old road."
And within a week from Novara to Moscow, the Nerazzurri have changed gears.

Milan - It still lacks the plug-Sneijder who has been injured since the K.O. in the eve of the Bologna game. But once he returns, he will definitely be back to his preferred position as a trequartista. This is the story of the current revolution at Inter which can be described as simple, logical and retroactive: so are Inter perfect this way? So let's exam the current situation and one during Gasp's short era.

You're here, you're there Claudio "Wolf" Ranieri has simply done what this team has been waiting for: he was given a puzzle and took the notes from the past dictated by the characteristics that won Inter many games: no changes of role, no experiments, no forcing or making weird attempts. No, none of them. You are going here, you are going there. You, as in Pazzini, are now the starter and back to the back four. Things have been done as Inter have scored six goals and gotten six points in the last two games.

800er.jpg
From left to right: Cambiasso (shift), Lucio (shock absorbers), Pazzini (motor), Zanetti (gas), Alvarez (piston), Forlan (steering wheel), Nagatomo (aileron)
Collective thoughts Question: So how has this influence the team to return to the past? Well, Ranieri has done nothing but going with the flow of logic. Moral: from Pazzini being on the field to Alvarez, from a Lucio in a shaky defense of three to a Cambiasso covering the back four. Those are the "changes" that Gasp buried in the shell of his own revolution that was never possible. For example, let's take a look the games against Novara and CSKA, synthetic field in both cases but there were two different Inter sides. In Novara, Gasperini had a swayed Lucio in the suffering defense of three, Nagatomo as a left midfielder, Sneijder in the midfield next to Cambiasso, Pazzini was on the bench, Alvarez in the stands, the debut of Castaignos as a winger, and Zanetti as the third central midfielder. It was like a team that got assembled in a hour. In Russia, Ranieri put the players back in their place, enclosed a team spirit and fielded a much more logical formation. "My recipe? I just put the players in their place, in their ideal role," said Ranieri after the game in Moscow knowing how the team played before and what they can give today. And above all, where should the players be.

Forlan sees the goal And then, no praying was needed. Pazzini is flying with two goals and won Inter a penalty in just four days. Forlan was a winger in the 3-4-3 against Palermo. Forlan is Forlan, one must see the goal because at 32 years old, he no longer has the tools to play on the wing. Ranieri has asked the blondie to play like he does with Uruguay. With the absence of Wesley Sneijder, Forlan played as a trequartista behind Pazzini in Bologna with the freedom that he really loves in the offensive end.

Old road Moral: some suggestions which did not arrive with Gasperini and here is Ranieri to resettle a puzzle from being messed up even more. "Let's reclaim the old way," Ranieri said to the players before his debut. And the old way is a line of four and not only that Welsey Sneijder as an attacking midfielder which has yet to be seen.

Wow, GdS thinks Alvarez is one of the pieces already in place. Strange idea, that.

Way too early. We already know the vital pieces, but are yet to see how Poli will integrate himself into the midfield. Alvarez is no way a guaranteed starter...
