Just think:
Tomorrow we have a match against Bologna, and this forum is somehow empty. Just TWO pages!!! and the Derby forum is going to open its 18th page.
Even us as the Inter fans, can't concentrate on this match. I see this match against Bologna so important. If we win it, then we can go to the derby with a better moral and also our position in Serie A would be better. Of course I would willingly sacrify this match for the Derby.
I'm so happy that I'm not in Mancio's shoes. There's a great tention waitting for them.
I hope the boys will keep their concentration so high.
Mancio should use those who has gotten less time to prove themselves. They will have a better moral for the match against Bologna, like Karag, Emre, VDM, Kily and Ze-Maria.

I don't know why Mancio hasn't called up Coco and Burdisso.
Burdisso won't play the derby so it was better to call him up as he didn't play in his national's 2nd match either and I think he isn't that tired.

And about Davids:
It's officaly undrestandable that he is going to leave us at the end of the season. I was against his arrival at the start and I couldn't undrestand that why did they bring him here, even after what Dr. Moratti said about him and Veron.

Toldo
Ze-M, Cordoba, Matrix, Favali
VDM, Veron, C.Z, Kily
Cruz, Oba

The match will go on as per schedule ...

Serie A: The Show Must Go On
4/1/2005 5:02:00 PM
No suspension of Serie A football this weekend despite Pope John Paul’s II critical conditions.
Sports will continue as usual despite appeals by the coaches of the top Italian clubs to honour the Pope and stop football for a weekend. This has emerged from the afternoon meeting between the Coni and FIGC.

Previously, it was predicted that at least Lazio-Livorno will not be played due to public order constraint, but it now appears that the full Serie A program will carry on as per plan.

This news will most likely cause an uproar in a very Roman Catholic country and where even the main protagonists had asked for a suspension from activities.

No Burdisso and no Davids, why?

It´s getting more and more obvious that Mancini is a very stubborn coach who will freeze out players. Though, this is a long-term project so most likely after this season, we will see the squad Mancini wants.

Players like Davids and Coco doesn´t have any future anymore with this Inter. Two players who has trained the entire week and should be fit for this game and yet are dropped. Instead we see a youngster defender called Andreolli called up.

It´s of course frustrating, but in a way, this is looking good for the future. When Mancini gets the squad he wants, we will see much better harmony in the squad.

It´s just shameful of Moratti, Branca and company to go and sign Davids when it´s obvious that Mancini never wanted him.

If that is the squad then this is the line-up that I want to see:

-------------------Toldo----------------------

Zanetti---Cordoba----Mihajlovic----Favalli

----------------Cambiasso------------------

---Karagounis---Veron------VDM---------

--------------Cruz----Oba-----------------

God bless the Pope, as far as I am concerned the games this weekend should be cancelled but knowing the powers that speak we probably will see matches this weekend  . And I predict a narrow Inter win....

I got this from the goal.com preview:

Gianluca Pagliuca (Bologna)
One of the many Inter rejects who are doing very well in other teams, he was a part of the squad that lifted Inter’s last trophy, the Uefa Cup in 1998. In the last few seasons he has arguably been Serie A’s best goalkeeper and is always a very important source of points for his side, as Mazzone stresses after almost every game. At 38 years of age, he still has cat-like reactions and pulls off stunning saves every Sunday. The 1994 World Cup finalist will look to put in another super display against his former side, which he nevertheless admits he is still a big fan of.

I didn't know that he was a big fan of ours, I expected him to be upset on us after we dumped him.

I wasn't closely following inter at that time although I was a fan. Why did we dump him? Was it Lippi that did that to bring Peruzzi with him? Or it was something else?

It would be quite moronic if Mancini decides to use Cordoba and Cambiasso from the start. They both played two matches in the World Cup qualifiers and they'll need a breather as to be ready for the Derby.

Martins should've been left on the bench, but we're lacking attacking options (a Primavera striker would've come in handy) so it's inevitable that he'll start. If he gets injured then we can kiss the CL goodbye even before playing as Adriano and Recoba are surely out and Vieri isn't fit as of yet. Yeah, then we'll field Cruz as a sole striker against Nesta and Maldini.

Burdisso has to start as well, enough of Materazzi please. Don't play him against Bologna so that any chance of him joining them will disappear upon witnessing his great techniques. :depress:

I haven't laughed, and cried that hard in days.

This is my wish. Cruz as a sole striker and Martins off the bench is what we need. I justified it in the Milan topic, and I think it'd work.

I don't know much about Fiore, except that he's an attacking midfielder, and he used to play in Lazio. The fact that he played under Mancini in Lazio before, may push Mancini to buy him. But I don't think we need him. If we want an attacking midfielder, or a playmaker, we should go for someone younger, and/or more talented. We already have Veron there right now, and I think he's staying with us next season.

Anyway, back to the Bologna match. This is the line-up which I'm hoping to see.

-----------------------Toldo--------------------
J. Zanetti----Cordoba---Mihajlovic---Favalli
VDM-------C. Zanetti-------Emre--------Kily
-----------------Cruz-----Martins-------------

p.s: Anyone know more about Marco Andreoli?

Good post Jimmy! :star:
The good thing out of Mancini's stubborness is that nandrolone davids is part of his list of rejected players ;)

Bah, I get this game tape-delayed by entire day! For some reason, TLN would rather show Milan crush little Brescia instead of this game. Oh well...

CONI have decided that ALL serie A matches are going to be postponed because of the Pope's imminent death.

They will probably be played on April 11, with the Coppa Italia games moved to a different date.

This is plain pathetic, if you consider that the Italian GP of Formula 1 went ahead only a couple of days after September 11.

Respect to the guy who is probably counting his last min on planet earth!
May God bless him if he is dead by now. he was a good person I guess.

BUT arent we(not us,everyone in general) making such a big fuss about his health? You turn on TV,radio, and all you hear is Pope. You read newspaper, all the headlines/editorials are about his health.

Surely he is very much liked by 1.2 Catholic Christians and probably some more ppl around the world, but c`mon its 21st Century for God's sake!
why do we have to rely on religious leaders anyways!?

Anyhow this is a plain STUPID decision if you ask me. It is year 2005 and not 1100!

Yeah, oh well, at least we can train for the "real game" next week, and no injury worries (unless someone manages the ultimate blunder and gets injured in training).

True - that is the only positive outcome
