We've got to win this match, and I mean WIN this match, for us to take anything against BB Bilan. If we lose this match, then I don't think we can win against Milan. I say we field the team we're going to field against Milan.

With our record of unpredictability (2003/2004 [End of November]: Inter 6 - 0 Reggina, Inter 1 - 5 Arsenal, Juventus 1 - 3 Inter), nothing is certain. Results against Bologna would not give us any indication whatsoever on how we are going to fare against Milan. A Derby, be it a EuroDerby or CoppaItaliaDerby, is decided by neither form or talent. It's decided by pure passion and desire. :proud::scared:

It's going to be veryyyy hard to keep our concentration in this game.

A clean sheet is out of the question, I don't think the defenders are going to be focused enough to manage that.

I'm quite worried about this game. Also Juve v Inter is only 3 days after the 2nd leg of the Euroderby, if we get knocked out I think that could affect us badly. I'm not saying we would lose, but if anything goes wrong, we would easily give up.

Bologna away is never an easy game, I'm afraid we're gonna see another draw.

I also wonder what kind of team we're gonna use. I suspect Veron, Stankovic and Martins could be rested.

Why not?

I think we will rest more than that. The CL is afterall a chance of a trophy while we already can't win Serie A. I want us to rest basically all components of the starting eleven except those who come and tell Mancini they really want to play Bologna match too and Toldo.

We actually won the Serie A match that we played days after getting knocked out by Dynamo Kyiv from the Champions' League last season. Ironically, that match was Bologna - Inter which we won 2-0 thanks to goals from Recoba and Martins. Cruz was possessed by Zidane that day as he produced 2 brilliant assists. :star:

just for the record, Bologna are a much better side now. and on top of that, being kicked out in the group stage, against dynamo kiev, is nothing compared to being kicked out in the last 8 by milan.

Frisko's right, this could effect them, id like to see how mancini handles it, but our players are old enogu and experienced. This is where players like Miha and Toldo come into play. Experience coutns for things like this.

eventhough its important to keep winning in the calcio, but i think we should rest some players such as cuch and cordoba who travelled all over to s.america and played a 90 min. I also would really like to see cruz starting if we're gonna play him against milan.

I hate those Qualifiers in the middle of the week. It sucks for us because 1) We have a plethora of South Americans that are critical to our success and 2) We're in the middle of a CL race for next year and the three teams behind us barely have any internationals. :frustrat:

Oh well.... either way I'm barely aware of this game (as I'm sure everyone is) with the big Euro Derby coming up. Hopefully the likes of Ze Maria, Davids, Karagounis and Cruz can get us the three points because it seems highly unlikely any of the SA's will be ready.

I still believe that winning against Bologna will give us a morale-booster, which will help us against the fight against Milan.

p.s: Why does everyone like to say 'plethora' nowadays? I've heard it like a dozen times! :D

We can rest Martins, and Veron. Anymore, and we can kiss this game goodbye.

Colucci and Giunti are banned for this game. I don't know them and I don't know how important they are. I still think Meghni is injured, and he is an important player of theirs.

I think Colucci is a starter for them and if Meghni is injured then that's good, very good!

Because many is played out and old fashion. Just like the word great

After we win games I'll say the squad played splendiferously :D

BTW this match is not as important as you guys say. Yeah winning this game will boost morale, but losing this game will be a slap in the face of the squad giving them an extra incentive to beat Milan since they will feel like they have to prove themselves yet again to the world. So anything is good in relation to the Milan derby.

But of course I personally wouldn't be at all happy if the side lost this one. A draw wouldn't really be alright, but I'd be able to live with it. Though winning it is still the best option. I'm thinking Mancini will rest most of his major players. Perhaps Davids will start.

There's another concern for me: if we start dropping points against Bologna, and then we lose the Euroderby, this could have a disastrous effect on our season. Let's remember that we have Gobbi v Inter just 3 days after the 2nd leg of the Euroderby.

We really should win on Saturday...
