Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “We’re In A Good Position Regarding Lautaro Martinez’s & The Other Players Contract Extension Situation”
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has given a positive update about the contract situations of various important players at the Nerazzurri.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the CEO explained that the club are in a good position with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and other players whose futures the club are hoping the secure beyond the current expirations of their contracts.
Martinez’s current deal runs until the end of June 2023 while the likes of Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar, and Marcelo Brozovic are other key squad members whose contracts are set to expire in the next couple of years and the club want to renew with.
As Marotta explains, there is no worry about these players, and the club expect to get their situations wrapped up with a positive outcome.
The CEO praises his collaborators within the club and attributes their security in dealing with the current squad as well as the strength that the club showed in the summer transfer window in spite of major sales and financial constraints to the good work behind the scenes.
“We had to act very quickly in the face of the problems that arose, but that is part of the game,” he said of the summer transfer window. “If behind a team on the pitch there is a strong team behind the scenes, even big problems can be solved.”
“I have very strong collaborators like [Sporting Director Piero] Ausilio and [Sporting Director Dario] Baccin and we managed to deal with a situation where perhaps others would have been resigned to defeat.”
About Martinez’s contract situation he said, “We are in a good position, the same with the others. From this point of view, we don’t have any major problems.”
