I give it three months before we’re complaining and begging for him to stop trying for a worldie every game
I want a Dumfries second post header or a Pavard volley at the end of every overshot cross from Dimarco.

Benji has to score a worldie against Milan it's basically written in the stars.

In reality, this deal started 8 months ago and there was a solid plan, probably the first idea was to get him free next summer but not getting some pieces (Lukaku, Samardžić) also helped to speed up this deal.

The reality is we're always monitoring many players. I'm just talking about how fast we found an agreement with everyone for this transfer.

I wander what effect this will have, Pavard is surely coming to be a starter not to be the sub for Darmian.

Darmian for sure will end up as rotational player if he arrives.

That's exactly the point of this whole transfer, lol.

I’m always sceptical about altering on something that has proved to be working. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. Darmian has been excellent at that RCB and one of our most consistent and reliable players, we obviously needed a long term replacement as he ain’t getting any younger, but I certainly wouldn’t want to see him on the wing back position either as we might loose bit too much offensively that way.

Meh darmian has been a backup here for most of his time with the club dont think it will be an issue... Also if he outperforms pavard so be it and he can keep his starting spot. But we needed to get a quality CB after skriniar left just hoping darmian would continue with his excellent form would have been foolish

This. We need players on the bench who can literally replace our starters. Darmian on the bench will be so valuable. He can basically back up any wing role (RCB, RWB, LCB, LWB).

Darmian, and Acerbi, deserve massive credit for keeping it together for so long, but let's face it, they are a backups who overperformed. A feel-good story.

That's not a sustainable solution, especially when Darmian turns 34 in 4 months, and Acerbi thirty SIX in 6 months. A quality replacement is long overdue.

The thing that keeps me up at night is Acerbi + de Vrij getting injured/out of form. That and the screaming children in the basement.
