Sounds like our strategy is just to low-ball all these teams now anyway.

Even if Bayern says that they dont mind losing him for free, i think they actually might, as the player wants out and i dont think they want an unhappy player... whoever will offer 35M will get him.

I'd rather spend the money on Scalvini. Give Atalanta Fabbian in the deal also to satisfy them.

He can be next years target - Bastoni - Scalvini - Pavard

Works for me!

How the hell can it be reliable enough to open the thread if we hardy could afford half of the asking price literally

Knowing the Germans well enough, they arent Italians or British i.e. dont like to bargain and usually dont tell bullshit about price. If they dont wanna sell they politely tell you to go away. Otherwise the price is pretty close..see Sommer.

Inter are wasting the rest of our mercato time for nothing if we "negotiate" the way we usually do.

Believe it when I see it. But would be the ideal skriniar replacement.

Surely we can't make too many signings that make sense in one window?

I like Pavard and was among the first to suggest we should go for him. But I think 35m would be way too much for him. And he would be given 6m net/8m gross at the minimum (on par with Thuram).

That’d be way too expensive for someone who hasn’t been able to perform consistently for years. Probably due to being played out of position but the fact remained is that we’d be buying a underperforming player.

Also, Pavard would be perfect for our RCB role now. But if one day we decided to move from Inzaghi, we may find ourselves in a very awkward position with Pavard. As he is not exactly a great CB and he doesn’t like playing RB.

25m would be fair for him. Pavard also needs to be more direct with Bayern and his suitors about what he wants.

I was thinking about this. Pavard at 6M wages and a 35M transfer fee would be the most expensive player in our squad. I'm not even sure we can call Pavard a world class player, although he is very good.

I support the signing because this squad DESPERATELY needs more talent in the prime of their careers. But I do worry what this signing will do to our financial position next summer, or under new ownership.

he has been very direct with Bayern. It is more about dealing with Bayern, a club that is financially sound.

Arnautovic could have been 2-3m, or Fratesi could have been 18-25m, but market plus our negotiation skills (if any)...
