With all the media reporting on Conte requesting older/experienced players, how reliable is that? I mean, it doesn’t look like Conte ever had carte blanche at Inter transfer dealings. I really can’t see his wishes undermining Zhang, Marotta (and to some extent) Ausilio. These are professionals with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, not just fans on a forum discussing transfers.
Is it a ploy to distract media from our real targets?
Because what I have actually seen so far is that we signed Eriksen whom Conte at least tried fit into the system (and actually changed the formation for a few games after COVID) although it didn’t go as well, and Hakimi who by all accounts is an excellent addition; and not renewing Valero’s contract. You can say it’s all Marotta, but you can’t pin all media hysteria on Conte and and all positive moves on Marotta. In a large corporation like Inter, they each have a role to play, and hopefully try to complement each other.
Also it looks like everyone has their own version of what happened during the three and a half hour meeting between management and coach, whereas the only official statement from the club was that they all want to work closely for the mutual benefit of Inter.
I know we’re worried about what direction our beloved club is heading, but a little patience is needed to see where the pieces finally fall.
Everyone in the hierarchy wants Inter to win, including Conte, because for them that is the ultimate prize - this is why they do what they do. They know that scudetto and reaching knockout stage of CL are achievable objectives for this season.
