The problem is our defense. Midfield or Attack are good enough for me.

We only have De Vrij, Bastoni and Ranocchia. THEY ALL CB, AND THEY ALL GOOD ENOUGH FOR US.

STOP PLAY D'AMBROSIO AND KOLAROV AS RCB OR LCB . THEY ALREADY COST SO MUCH GAME FOR US.

Full back as CB are disaster master class recipe for this year.

The problem is that we always have to run otherwise we cannot defeat opposition. And we cannot always run. Conte cannot even take advantage of this 5 subs gift. In the final parts of last season he always changed his two wing backs which allowed the team to keep running.

I wonder what's next for this guy once he inevitably gets sacked. No Italian team is going to pay his wages. Madrid and Barca aren't hiring him. What's left? PSG once Tuchel gets sacked? Praying some English team gives him another shot at the EPL after his embarrassment there in his second season?

He needs to hope Mancini goes back to club football after Euro 2021 so he can take the Italian NT job again.

Darmian, Skriniar, Eriksen and Kolarov all loved watching this game.

Roma under the new ownership or PSG. I can't see him returning to England after the drama he caused at Chelsea.

Gotta hope PSG will have to do well with Tuchel as long as possible, so they dont get Allegri first

It's rumored Allegri isn't interested in PSG job and is waiting for Inter.

Just wanted to drop this somewhere, a general observation I’ve brought up a few times here.

We sorely lack athleticism in our squad. In the back line especially. Bastoni is probably the best athlete and that’s only because he’s like 21. De Vrij slow and clumsy and D’Ambrosio runs like he’s in mud. 3rd goal is due to D’Ambrosio getting burnt on the wing. The winning goal in the Derby came from the same situation. If we are going to keep Conte and this formation we need athletes, that seems to be the biggest pre-requisite to success in this system, not being a great footballer.

Agree on the athleticism thing. Our system is however based on that basically. Like brehme points out, we basically NEED to run all the time. And no one can do that for the whole season.

I disagree on who's fault on that winning goal for Real. My analysis from the match thread:

Look at their 3rd goal. It wasn't even a counter-attack. They built that goal from the back. Hakimi so late to press Mendy, well it's not a problem if Valverde was marked in the middle. Happens to be, there's absolutely NO ONE marking him. Vidal is on the other side of the pitch since Real cycled the ball from there. Brozovic thought he's marking Casemiro apparently. Gagliardini is marking Modric. If Valverde was Vidal's man, that goal is on Vidal and Hakimi. Vidal for leaving his man to do whatever he wants and Hakimi to be nowhere near Mendy at first. Then De Vrij comes to press Valverde and it was over already as D'Ambrosio can't compete against Vinicius ever. Then Vidal can't mark Rodrygo either, he just fucking jogging there towards our goal. Bastoni marking no one, Young marking Benzema.

It's always a lost case when D'Ambrosio needs to run towards our goal. Something else has gone wrong in that moment when D'Ambrosio needs to do that. Btw in Zlatan's second goal in the derby, D'Ambrosio made the mistake of going forward when trying to confront Leao, so that was his mistake indeed. Being slow is known by everyone, himself included so the mistake was to be too aggressive.

Anyway, you are indeed correct that our guys need to run fucktons in every match. And today even that wasn't enough. And IMO that is because our system does not have tools for technically better opponents. Hell, we couldn't even win Parma and their squad fucking sucks.

But in his post-match interview he keeps saying that team is convinced of their abilities. So at least by him, they are not giving up on Conte yet. Which gives some hope.

When it seemed like he would walk and Allegri would replace him, I didn't know how to feel outwardly, but felt disappointed when it didn't happen, which told me for myself just which side I was leaning towards.

It feels like an even bigger missed opportunity now with hindsight. Whatever the reason, this isn't working.

Who's gonna pay? We are going to pay his wages for the next season when he gets sacked after this one. :trollol:

After this contract, it's probably going to be a bit more quiet for him, at least if his demand stays the same. I feel he needs to bring his wage demand down to get a new job in 2022.

The whole Marotta coming to run the show is a big missed opportunity for the club.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Inter had even brought their lawyer in that infamous meeting. For me it's obvious the two sides decided to stick together for financial reasons. This version of Conte full of happiness and satisfaction isn't the Conte we knew till last season. He simply isn't motivated. He's only staying to collect the paycheck.

"There are three games to go, nine points up for grabs, this team has shown it can challenge. I think with a little bit of luck, we can bring home a positive result and not just a good performance,” assured Conte.

Keep blaming luck every single fucking game. Its all on marotta for giving him 3 year contract with that astronomical salary.

Last 7 games, 1 win. It's not about luck anymore, bro. We are making mistakes every match, mistakes which cost us conceded goals in almost every match.

You have two freekick specialists on the bench and choose to use none. You have erikssen and naingolan on the bench and use gags. You get out classed buy every fucking coach there is . Sell godin and use D'Ambrosio for rcb. You have one half ass game plan and stick to it no matter what. Fuck you.

The locker room situation isn't ideal at the moment to put it kindly.

One bad result vs Atalanta and we may have an outburst. Not sure if the international break will help calm the spirits somehow.

All I can gather from this, is the state of coaching today is just awful. Every coach we've had has made grave errors in judgement. Even the best coaches in the world today like Guardiola or Ancelotti aren't that good.

I fear we might not see another Fergie or old school Mou (before he lost all his motivation) during our lifetimes. The likes of Heleno Herrera or Cruyff seem like another species of people.
