I don't think we can afford to sell him at a capital loss, which is why I don't believe reports we'll sell him in January. I imagine a summer sale of around 10 million is realistic, perhaps in a swap deal like we did for Nainggolan where Candreva serves as the Santon.

Maybe we can offer Fiorentina 60m for Chiesa, and give them a ready replacement in Candreva for 20m. That would be a sweet deal.

If not, we may have to wait till Conte finds a new job to make a profit on Candreva...

We signed him for €22m in 2016 on a 4 year contract. After two years we renewed him on October 2018 for a further year until 2021. By January he'll have been here for 2.5 years but I can't remember whether the renewal means his original fee is divided among the new contract length or whether his remaining amortised value is divided among the remaining years including the added year extension. In the first case his book value would be like €11m. In the case of the former, around €8m or so.

The calculation would be that after two years with annual amortisation cost of 5.5m per year, his book value would have become 11m. Now since Inter now extended his contract by a year, the amortisation cost per year will now reduce to 11m/3 years = 3.67m.

So after 2.5 years (Jan 2019), his book value = 11 - 3.67/2 = 9.17m
After 3 years (July 2019) his book value = 11 - 3.67 = 7.33m

Or have Marotta use his skills to sell Candreva to any club in his network at a good price.

Quite obviously the worst player in this current squad. It's like watching a 5 year old play with adults.

Every now and then I think to myself that he can't possibly get any worse, but tonight he reached a whole new level of pure comedy gold.

Gonna have an awful time unloading this guy ever.

We can offload him. The problem is we really won't get any money for him. Mid-table teams would still take Candreva.....easily.

Not with that salary they won't. For Candreva, the best options for all parties will probably be either China or as a part of a swap with a club who can afford Candreva's wages.

Unfortunately the two coaches who could have been keen on buying Candreva are both not managing clubs (Conte & Mancini).

He's not even useful as a backup, unlike Valero.

Didn't we renew him recently too?

I can't even offload the cunt in Football Manager because of the salary, at least I know Ausilio is having the same problem.

You'd think that scoring that goal at the beginning of the season would boost his confidence and put him on track, but no. It only proves that he's finished, despite all the chances he's getting. He's probably the player with the most given chances to play out of the struggling ones.

We always failed to monetize properly on our sales, so I heard this Beppe guy is coming in :eek:blivious:

I hope he can teach Ausilio how to sell.

The idea that Conte want Candreva makes me vomit. Who the fuck comes with this stupidity? A fucking rumour I don't know where, repeated here here and there and now becomes here an irrefutable truth that Conte would have take Candreva wherever he goes.

It's the same fucking insanity with Vecino and Sarri. Because Vecino was good at fucking Empoli now Sarri will pay big dollars for Vecino. Someone even thought we can swoop Vecino for Kante! One of the most idiotic things I read.

Look at Conte's purchase history. You make your own conclusions, but no sane coach would buy Davide fucking Zappacosta, Bakayoko, David Luiz or Alvaro Morata with, then still, unlimited funds.

It isn't just a rumour. It was confirmed by Candreva's agent.

Candreva came close to joining Chelsea - agent
Federico Pastorello says the 30-year-old nearly made the switch to Stamford Bridge in 2017 and could be on the move this summer

Antonio Candreva came close to leaving Inter to join Chelsea, his agent has revealed, and would not rule out a move at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old winger has been a key player for the Nerazzurri since joining from Lazio in August 2016 and was quickly linked with a move to the Premier League.

Candreva was again rumoured to be on the way out of San Siro in the January transfer window, as his agent said the Italy international would "love" to play in England.

And Federico Pastorello has admitted a switch to Stamford Bridge almost came to fruition in 2017.

"When he arrived at Inter he was very happy, and he still has this enthusiasm," he told Rai Sport.

"He was very close to going [to Chelsea] last winter, but he had just been bought by Inter, so it wasn't possible.

"We're waiting for the end of the season. If they finish in the top four, I think he’ll be happy to remain and finally play in the Champions League.”

Candreva, who is joint top of the Serie A assist chart with eight, is contracted to Inter until 2020.

Conte was so desperate with getting a right wingback during that winter that he even tried to sign Biabiany on a dry loan.
