beast header lol nah dylan was right but a bit overextended his reasonable hate on frog :trolldad:
it was funny watching him kiss the ground or whatever prayer, cry of joy he did. either way, he's been with us for so long so uno di noi right?
and that's exactly what the bein comentators were saying "crucial target man" when he got in for the corner but then poof vecino (who played like shit the whole time) heads in a very improbable goal. i remember frogs clearance however, and been shitting on him every time he plays, cuz he's frog, but today is a happy day. if we'd conceeded because of him, LGI forever.

This guy is perfect as a 4th choice CB imo. The question is does is wage reflect that of a 4th choice CB? I don't know, I honestly have no idea what he's on. I would think probably not seeing as he was our captain at one point.

It makes no sense though to have some primavera kid or Bastoni taking up that role. If we sell Ranocchia we are just going to end up with another Lisandro Lopez to fill that position.

Spalletti subbed him on to head the corner. Luckily enough he didn't touch the ball, otherwise it would be over the bar.

I'd actually extent him for a couple more seasons assuming he takes a significant pay cut. He will know that he cannot find anything better than something like 800k net from a team that's not fighting for relegation so he might as well get something around that at Inter.

Agreed, but it depends on Spalletti more than anything.

First and foremost, Lisandro can fuck off back to wherever he came from. As expected, even on a loan, his signing was an utter waste of time. If Ranocchia stays, we'll have 4 CB's with him, De Vrij, Skriniar, Miranda. If Spalletti intends on playing 2 CB's at the back, I'm actually pretty content with that to my own surprise. If he wants to play 3 at the back, we need to buy another CB.

As for Bastoni, we all know he's not going to be slowly integrated into the team or anything. How many minutes did Pinamonti get this entire season? Just send him out on loan somewhere he'll play regularly. Serie B maybe.

Bastoni is staying back in Atalanta for another season. That was always the deal. Hopefully with Atalanta playing all three competitions, esp playing EL from the qualifying stage will mean Bastoni will get more playing time this season.

Anyways, as with some many things in this group, there is irrational hate hate for Rano . Rano had a solid season. I think at the beginning of the season, Spaletti took him aside and said he will have to challenge Skriniar and Miranda for a starting position, and to be fair, he tried his best but Miranda and Skriniar both had an outstanding season. We must also understand that no one expected Skriniar to be this good in his debut season. He was a good player at Samp, but seriously, how many of us thought he would turn out to be an absolute beast?

Anyways, next season will be even tougher for Rano to claim a spot, but remember, we will be playing 3 competitions, there will be some opportunities.

'Why are we applauding a tall defender for being good in the air'. Such a stupid thing to see. Do we not applaud people with low centre of gravity for their dribbling skills/change of pace? Do we not applaud big players for being physically imposing? Part of why we bought Rano was his height and how he uses it, so obviously that's part of the package. Plus I can name plenty of tall defenders who are shit in the air. So let's give credit where credit is due, shall we?

Even for player as tall as him, he even lost in aerial duel and isnt as good as he should in the past, Klose made him as his bitch everytime in air. But this season his aerial ability both on defense and attack is very immense and help us this season, kudos to him.

This dude really cares for our colours and had a decent season overall.

That said, it's easy to have a decent season if nobody depends on you. We were lucky not to have Miranda or Skriniar injured or suspended for long periods of time. We all know that Ranocchia is error-prone, Sampdoria and Hull fans being fully aware of that fact as well.

With De Vrij arriving, there's a chance he'll barely see the pitch (assuming Miranda will stay), but as it's been pointed out, his wages are crazy for a 4th option. Not reliable enough to play regularly, and too expensive to sit on the bench with a dumb look on his face.

He is happy making 1.5 million a season....

I saw people here seeing de Vrij as a rotation player.

He has one year on his contract, maybe there's something we can do about his wage. But I prefer him staying as a back-up at 1.5m instead of some Lisandro-Lopez-bullshit in January.

There was a time when i would have sold him in an instant, same as Brozovic, but Rano looks better now and is a good player to have on our bench. We should definitely keep him!

I feel an odd attachment to Rano. He was symbolic of all that was wrong with Inter for the last few years, and yet this season he's been solid and has come through with us all the way to the light at the end of a seemingly never-ending tunnel. I'd like him to stay.

Well, only Ranocchia from this team who played for us in CL, and started that game against Bayern in Munich when we were 1-0 down. He was an absolute shit in that game btw, but you can see the way he celebrated last night’s game... He knows the feelings of playing in CL.

he also saved a goal on the line, he wasn't really shit, just nervous at the beginning.

I wouldn't mind if Inter extend his contract on (much) lower wages, with his experience he has become good enough for back up. If not, we should sell him while we can still get some money (some EPL clubs may be interested).

Ranocchia is only 30 and should try to find a club where he would be a starting player. He always had the skills except for being mentally strong and who knows what could happen with less pressure and maturity.

Premise: he's still a massive liability. Udinese and Lasagna are still fresh in the memory, for example, even if all's well that ends well.

That being said, from the outside, it looks like he grew up during the season to be a "soul" of this team, including his antics and his post-game interview.
For years a friend of mine kept making a vintage and understandable comparison between him (the new Nesta) and Fresi (the new Baresi) for their frustrating softness, naivety and lack of malice while wearing an Inter shirt.
Still, with all his limits, I can't question his efforts and, as a matter of fact, during the season he was involved in some decisive moments in which he showed personality and delivered on the pitch.

Yes, emotions are still high and must not fool anybody, his wage doesn't reflect that of a surplus "ten-minutes" player coming off the bench under certain circumstances (his ideal role right now), his time at Inter should have been over a while ago... but it's a fair thing to praise him for his 2017/2018 season.

I rather give the 20 year old kid from Belgium the 4th spot on our roster especially with Champions league and Copa
Italia.

He makes next to nothing and his fk ups will be because of experience not because he is shit. He does well he goes up to 3rd CB or gets sold for more money. Having these older CBs that are garbage but have experience makes no sense to me.
