FWIW I'm fairly certain Rano is going to make a start against Frosinone after the break. Would make perfect sense. Home game, poor opponent, difficult opponents directly afterwards.

We want to win so it wouldn’t make sense to kamakazee ourselves with this cunt starting!

Neither would any other club.

West Ham are paying Ogbonna almost double to sit on the bench. Guarantee if Ranocchia went to England he would get an even better deal than he's on at Inter. Now if somebody will tell him that so negotiations don't happen with us we'll be sitting pretty.

Issue is that he had his chance there, i doubt someone would give him a chance there again, i think he may go back to Genoa. Another Serie A team will prob take him.

The funny thing is, people in England seem to forget the likes of his horror show against Palace that sent Hull down to the Championship and just remember him scoring twice and occasionally not single handedly fucking up entire games. He could easily fool a lower half prem team to overpay him. Titus Bramble made a career out of it after all.

Still no mins this season right? If he doesn't get featured in Coppa Italia, I don't know what's our position for Rano. Even Materazzi or God forbids, Kharja got more minutes than him.

Was going to say the same thing!

1.5 million a season for 0 minutes. Hate him and the back up goalies. Dream jobs. Get to chill with my heroes and not do anything at all but get prime seats to all our gamez

Gotta be a Miranda-Ranocchia special against Benevento.

Just want to bring up how much I respect this guy. He has plenty of reasons to never want to wear these colours again and still finds a way to positive influence in the dressing room despite never playing. Hoping he plays the length of the Coppa Italia and stays our 4th CB for the rest of his career (though I'm sure he'll want to move on soon).

For 2.4mil he had no right to complaint tbh, Ranocchia basically the symbol of Inter dark ages. Everything went wrong when we started believe this guy could lead us. But indeed he is good guy, I can see Inter will extend his contract with reduced wages.

Ofc he's going to be happy, nobody is going to pay his wages, so this is the best thing for his career right now.

Can anyone confirm whether his contract runs out in 2019? I thought he signed an extention?

if i had to bet on this, i'd say he will find an agreement with the club for a contract extension but for much lower wages, probably 3 years in the region of 1.7-1.8 per season, which would be half of his current wages (around 3.5, according to the media). or maybe even a bit less than that. i'm pretty sure marotta will make him a nearly non-negotiable offer, especially if we can land godin for free (which would be awesome).

from the club's point of view, he still makes sense at Inter: he's kind of reliable for a bencher and doesn't complain at all for not playing. so giving him 1.8 would still be cheaper than buying a new bencher.

and he's 30, has fathered a tadpole (to use his own words), so unless his desire to play has grown, milano and Inter are still the best option for him.

I don't think we're going to offer an extension to Ranocchia. There isn't even a whisper about it. It looks like the plan is signing a promising CB (e.g. Mancini) and an experienced CB if Miranda doesn't stay.

Btw i think Ranocchia current wages are around 2.5m. Maybe a bit more but certainly under 3m. Which still is too much for your 4th CB.

I think his salary is 2,4M€, not 3,5M. But anyway I like your plan, him being the 4th choice CB is totally fine if we can get his salary lower.

yeah, you guys are right. my memory failed me this time. it doesn't change much in regard to my reasoning: i believe marotta will offer him a contract extension, but at much reduced wages. at this point, i'd say around 1.5 or even a bit less.
