Lukaku really screwed the backup striker situation. Had that been resolved before Dzeko signed for another team we would have been better off. I much rather still have Dzeko the Arnautovic & Sanchez.

That goes without saying. Half of the forum was against paying all that money for Arnautović and we still are.

While Sanchez is a weird case, because he doesn't seem like he understands that he is supposed to be a veteran presence to be used sparringly, but he goes too hard when he plays for Chile because HE IS A LION

Both of them self claimed lions, make sense, that’s why they don’t run.
We need third one who is reliable, it’s crucial to the end of season. Both Kvara and Osimhen set the world on fire for first half of last season but since 2023, they haven’t been the same.

We have some, but not enough to buy someone decent, your not going to get someone decent at 8m especially not on that position, you might pull a defender out with that sum in some minor team or league but an attacker that’s rather unlikely unless there some major question mark and even then we are easily at €20-30m investment.

It would have require no Pavard to upgrade on the attacking front and then you guys would complain over that instead.

Our lack of depth is caused largely by spending on Correa a few years back. That mistake is the main culprit for the lack of usable dept. Arna and Sanchez are a symptom not a cause.

If we look at over 20m investment since summer 2018 exclusive technicality, it shows how difficult this manoeuvre is. And on average we bought two plus 20m a season that’s just nothing in todays market!

Lukaku 75m
Barella 32m + 12m loan
Hakimi 43m
Nainggolan 38m
Pavard 30m
Gosens 27m
Correa 27m
Eriksen 27m
Politano 21m + 5m loan
Martinez 25m
Sensi 25m
Lazaro 22m
Sure, let's buy crap instead of save the money. Then cry again next season of too little resource (wonder why?) hence must buy another crap.

Sure, nobody is better with 8m :yao: this guy = 0$ and a fraction of that 3(x2)m net salary.

That’s not really what I’m writing, I’m just pointing out you can’t easily get quality with the budget Inter is operating at on every position and on depth.

It sounds ridiculous that ever since Moratti left we have had no serious backup strikers (apart from 2018/19 but this didn't last long because of Icardi drama) but the explanation is really simple. We have always prefered investing on quality starters which makes sense but it leaves us with no money left for backups. We also don't like taking risks with unproven players in attack. So when you have no money and you prioritize experience then of course you will end up with washed and broken forwards hoping they have at least one good year left in them.

We rarely ever played with 2 pure strikers before Conte though, right? Occasionally, of course, but it was never like it's now iirc.

Strikers are the most expensive assets obviously, we got freaking lucky with a gem like Thuram

yeah because we rarely ever played with two pure striker before Conte, we also didn't get Scudetto title before two strikers formation and Conte. It's better to get a better and fit striker because the striker are basically essential to get Scudetto title.

Don't have one.
I'm praying rai sources are right, and we are looking to offload alexis and bring simeone...

Maybe someone finally realized we are in big trouble, and we need to do something about it cos as some of you already mentioned, realizing we made a mistake during the summer and fixing it now could be a difference maker between winning a scuddeto or leaving empty-handed.

Just get Simeone on loan. Napoli are already out of the race, so they may be open to it.
Tell me reasons why would ADL help Inter? He's usually making business with bigger Italian clubs only when forced to or when it's Napoli's initiative. We've read rumors of Simeone being unhappy and loan out is possible but I can't think reasons why would ADL give him to Inter out of all clubs.

I don't have high hopes for this particular move. And they're gonna lose Osimhen to AFCON soon.

If we make him a good offer, like loan which could be turned to a permanent deal in some conditions. But, I doubt that Simeone will want to join too, because he looks for a regular playing time as far as I understand.

Not easy in the winter transfer market but we might be in a huge problem if we dont get a proper striker (unless we have someone as a makeshift option).
