Udinese Boss: “Samir Handanovic Is An Inter Player” And Contract Detail
The son of Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo, Gino Pozzo, has confirmed to Gazzetta dello Sport that negotiations with Inter for Samir Handanovic are now completed. “I can confirm that there is an agreement with Inter with Faraoni as a player in exchange. What missing are his signature and the official announcement.”
According to Sky, it is practically done. Agreement has been reached with Udinese for 11 million euros plus half of Marco Davide Faraoni while with the keeper, there has been agreement for some time. For Samir Handanovic, what missing is just the last final details. The Slovenian goalkeeper will sign a four-year deal at two million per plus bonus.
Cristian Chivu: “My First Choice Was Inter And I Want To End My Career Here”
“My first choice was Inter.” That was Cristian Chivu one that recently has renewed contract with Inter. The Romanian player was very close to leave Milan but at the end, it all worked out the right way.
“Last year we talked a lot but management always told me to stay calm because they will offer me a contract renewal. There was only one uncertain period because no one knew if we would play in the Champions League or not and where I would play but then there was no problem. We reached a common agreement and there are some bonuses in the contract but I am not interested in money because if I were, I would have gone somewhere else.
“Inter made me a reasonable proposal. I am 32 years old and the club is renewing in line with the Financial Fair Play by reducing the wages. But Inter are Inter, the history, the prestige of this club, why should I not accept after 8 years playing at high level? I am lucky, I want to finish my career at Inter and I think this will be my last contract as a player.
“Proposal from Real? I often speak with Mou. We exchange messages but there was nothing. When I was at Roma, the papers said that I would sign (extension) but I decided to come to Inter. I left Roma because I was blamed of making a large hole in the budget and so I was sold. Galatasaray? Yes there was something but nothing really was concrete. There were also opportunities in Asia and the Middle East but…
“Sneijder? I heard that Wesley was very disappointed now this Euro went wrong but he will have plenty of time to relax and become great again.”
Palermo General Director On Silvestre: “We’re Still Far”
Inter and Palermo are still distance apart regarding Matias Silvestre. And this gap is somewhere between two and three million. Giorgio Perinetti, Palermo director, has confirmed this after the meeting yesterday. “We are still far away and at the moment there are no new developments.” According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the request of Palermo is 9 million euros.
Handanovic To Have Medical Exam Tomorrow
It is turning into a reality. Samir Handanovic is just a physical and signature away from becoming an Inter player. According to Sky, Faraoni has signed a contract with Udinese and Handanovic will soon do the same. It is all done regarding the goalkeeper’s situation and he will sign a four-year deal with two million euros per season, less than what of what Julio Cesar is making currently. Not only that, tomorrow the Slovenian goalkeeper will have a medical exam but his official presentation is not yet determined.
Julio Cesar: “No Intention Of Leaving Inter”
Julio Cesar is not going anywhere at least that is what his intention is. The Brazilian goalkeeper is at an awkward situation now that Samir Handanovic is basically an Inter player, a move that even got some reaction from his wife who accuses Inter of being “disrespectful.” In an interview with Sky, here is what Julio Cesar has to say.
“I am very well (smiles). Handanovic? He is a very good goalkeeper and so it is better for us. We are three very strong goalkeepers. I have a contract until 2014 and I am an Inter player. I think that I will stay here and compete for the position and it is the coach that will decide on who will take the field. Again, if Handanovic comes to Inter it is because he is good.
“Milan? there is absolute nothing. Maicon and Lucio? I hope Lucio does well. Juve have made a fantastic signing. Last thing: a big hug to the fans.”
