Could be Luca Facchetti, yes. I always thought Luca looked like Andreolli, but not so much on that photo.

The fact that this thread has only 4 pages shows exactly the level of enthusiasm of Inter fans this season which is close to 0 :( .

Even a very very good deal doesn't give any hope....

This. This might well turn out to be the best transfer of Inter for a long time. Banega walks straight to our starting lineup and most probably becomes the most valuable player of the team.

100% agree. Along with what you said he is also the missing link of what we lacked in midfield/attack the entire last season, Banega represent and possesses all those qualitys which make the deal even better in my opinion since we so desperately needed someone with his qualities and its not exactly many out there I would rather prefer which realisticly we could get, a brilliant deal and a very promising start of the mercato which I just dont hope we fail to further capitalize on.

I also believes he will become the MVP of our team ahead of Miranda and Handanovič.

scary where we would be if he gets injured. He is the only one on our team capable of passing

He is great player that will help us a lot but we need also the last man who can tackle, mark, pass well, start quick attacks from the back
Biglia would be great,Viviani is also a good solution but he is unproven in such heights, maybe Badelj,Marko Rog also is a shining prospect...
Dunno about Witsel and his defensive abilities...
Medel and Melo just don't cut it for what we are after

I like that there's no hype and fanfare around him, let him work hard and then start on the right foot.

Argentina Pirlo.

But Mancini will probably play him way too forward anyway, if not at the start, then that's where he will end up at the end.

Just want to be clear that everyone seems to think Emery is a great coach and he played him at AM, so you can't really say Mancini is stupid for doing the same.

I am not everyone.

And the problem is not whether Banega can suitably play AM or not, the problem here is whether Mancini is tackling the right problem of the team, passing the ball forward from our half.

So if Banega can solve this problem, and Mancini still noticeably ignore it, then whether Emery put Banega as an AM is completely irrelevant.

Because Mancini's solving Inter's problem, and that is not to be done by replicating Emery's solution for Sevilla's problem.

Though Mancini actually has to first identify the problem, before he comes to solve it.

Baby steps I suppose.

I agree with you, just seems like Mancini is hell bent on 4-2-3-1 and I'm not sure how Banega will do in the 2. In my opinion he is a class player, so he will perform in any role of midfield. We just need him at his best.

Banega will have to drop deeper because with our midfield he wont see the ball. I remember sneijder having to do the same thing. Think kondogbia, banega and medel (im assuming that brozo will be out wide) are a good balance. On paper we are a pretty decent team.

Though Mancini actually has to first identify the problem, before he comes to solve it.

The problem is that he 'thinks' that he has identified the problem, thus causing more damage than just being clueless. Thinking that we need more strikers because we don't create chances has led to buying Eder. A bigger problem is not identifying Benega as the missing piece to create more chances but instead stating that he hasn't figured out his role yet.

I try to believe that Mancini was just trolling the media with those clueless comments so he doesn't expose our tactics in public. He can't be THAT clueless, can he? :scared:
