this is not regista.. it's called the bench.

Regista is different thing than AM/SS/free role. Regista is a player dictating the tempo of the game for the team, playing in the deep midfield. Deep-lying midfielder is the actual correct term for regista.

It's interesting to see if Banega will play in that role or in further up in the field as CM or even AM.

The word you're searching for is trequartista, or in the case of someone like Banega, maybe fantasista would suit better.

I believe this that Mancini will experiment Banega in different roles. Hopefully he manages to do that in July/August and finds the position by then, or at the latest in first weeks of the season.

Regista means "the director"literally in Italian meant for a playmaker
They have usually a free role dictating the play so the playmaker and it ain't necessarily bound to a position...usually the DLP but not necessarily,they are all over the place tbh

Deep lying playmaker yes is the mf in front of the df

AM is the trequartista,which means 3/4 of the pitch

SS is the supporting striker/seconda punta
