Then comes the question, who gives a fuck about casuals? We aren't doing this for the casuals.

Edit. But at the same time, you are right. We need to beat Atlético if we want to take the next step and cement our position in Europe. It's just that it's not the main objective this season.
Let’s talk about this on the pod. Does the opinion of casual matters? I would argue it does.

Griezman gets rotation as he is not starting. He will sure will have to play in the second as Las Palmas is not an easy opponent this year.
They’re already up 2-0 after about 20 min. He ain’t coming on in a stressful situation.

We couldnt beat fucking Sociedad but people think we are favorites against Atletico lol
The time and the teams form are completely different though. Against Real we were a bit surprised in the first game, and we didn't try too much in the last one. Now, our team is in the best form since the beginning of the season, and the moral is high after we have beaten Jube and Roma.
I don't follow Atletico, but they will be without Morata, who seems to have a great season so far.

Morata is last player I am worried about.

Watching Las Palmas game, the goals are gifted. Even though ATM does not play smooth counter attack, they defend like us, making Las Palmas possession toothless. And more importantly, they double down on every Las Palmas player who got the ball. Very suffocating style.

my prediction: 2-1 Inter, Pavard to finally score, a goal similiar like Ibra did against Bologna.

The first step to being a top European heavyweight.
But WE ARE a top European heavyweight. Beating Atletico, who aren't a top European heavyweight doesn't really make us bigger.

They would always be the underdog here.

There are teams that play a certain way that are bogey teams for us.

Bayern gets regularly beaten by Borussia Monchengladbach and yet it's Bayern that wins the league every season. Some teams are just the antivenom :)

Are you sarcastic or what? Last 13 years (except last one) Atletico is def European heavyweight, not us.

As much i hope that we do well in CL, we are all aware that our priority is Seria A
This line of reasoning made some sense when we faced Benfica.

It’s obvious that this team has truely something special going on, and we have a non-trivial shot at conquering Europe.

Don't have one.

Also, sociedad whole setup was trying to fuck up the way we play, so much so they imo completely disregarded their own style, especially when we played them on meazza. I doubt atletico will play that way, they have much more quality to impose themselves and consequently leave more openings.

The cynical act is getting tired guys. It's not edgy or funny anymore.

This is not a 50/50 matchup. We are expected to beat atletico. We are easily favorites on paper, and by the oddsmakers. ATL is not the same team they were years ago and neither are we (for the better).

Some of you need to wake up and realize that Inter is a serious challenger in Champions League this year, meanwhile ATL has lost 6 matches in a weak La Liga and drew Lazio and Celtic in the worst group in CL.

Who would have thought that Lazio will beat Bayern? We are three times better than Lazio. Come on guys, stop worrying so much.

I don’t pay much attention to La Liga but Atletico has always been a tough nut to crack under Simeone. Looks like they’re scoring more this season and still defending very well as per usual. For me, this is 50/50 over 2 legs. They’re well rounded and have the experience but we’re in our very best spell under Inzaghi.

Morata out for the 1st leg is big though. Hopefully we can take advantage of that.

as optimistic as I am about our form, this a coin-flip at best. Atletico are more expert than us in grinding out fixtures like this over 2 ties. But if we do get through here, I think we could do some real damage again in this tournament.
Oh yeah, they killed it last year in CL and we totally sucked. We should all be so afraid...
