His time will come, we just have to be as patient as he is. He's rather unfortunate to be at a club that plays one up top, and that one striker happens to be Icardi who rarely gets injured, doesn't get tired because he doesn't rely on heavy sprinting and doesn't really hit bad spells of form. And while it would he great to see him get more minutes on the field, there haven't been a whole host of games where Spallo could afford to bring off Icardi just to develop Lautaro, we're regularly still chasing the game at the end of in need of killing it off. Adding him to the mix when we are chasing also isn't the best of ideas considering we identify the biggest issue being a lack of supply to Icardi, taking away another person from behind isn't going to help that lack of supply.

Hopefully we can see him get some games in the EL, other than that he just has to bide his time.

Highlights from Saturday. Could have had two assists, one was his fault for over-hitting the pass and the other was Icardi being offside. But I like how he mixes it up, sometimes he'll go for the ball into Icardi, sometimes the first-time flick (admittedly, this almost never comes off), sometimes he'll try for the dribble.

He got two pay bumps since he signed his original contract if my memory serves me right. Thats not a crazy amount of pay raises especially seeing as he came as a youngster.

I don’t know how the club did not see this coming. Personally, I would’ve kept Eder for another season instead of wasting those +20m on Lautaro and get a midfielder. Eder is more serviceable than this kid who’s not ready for Inter, not even as Icardi’s sub.

Tying your season on one guy was the problem. Someone similar to Rafinha should’ve arrived in addition to Nainggolan. Nainggolan should not have been Rafinha’s direct replacement in any way.

- William Carvalho

What's the point of having him if our midfield is so shit, that he can't get service? What's concerning is that even in games that he scores, he does not look comfortable or like he fits in at all. He is not ready to be our second ST and we should get another one in January as well.

Golovin was sold for something like 40m.

Signing Lautaro had nothing to do with not signing midfielders. Not signing midfielders who we had agreed terms with + their teams (e.g. Vidal) is the reason.

We signed Keita Balde instead of a midfielder. Lautaro was a done deal from March.... Vent somewhere else, let the kid get accustomed to Serie A first.

He definitely is a pure 9. I thought he could turn into some kind of attacking midfielder/second striker but no way. If we want to play him it has to be 4-4-2.

The fact that almost all the (little) playing time he gets comes when we're desperate for a goal and that he usually gets deployed anywhere but in his natural position (together with the shit-ton of times Inter fans have already "burned" young players only to see them flourish somewhere else a few years later) should suggest a little more patience with the lad.

Bullshit. On top of being a better shooter than Gagliardini, Bryan is a better passer and more complete player.

Bullshit. Carvahlo plays mostly CM for Betis and both Vecino and Gagliardini are worse passers statistically and lose the ball more times per game than Carvalho does.

Regardless, me listing those name are irrelevant, I'm not a football scout. The point still stands, there were midfielders out there that we could and should have spent our money on.

Balde is useful. Lautaro is as useless as Eder was, and hasn't shown to be even better than Gabigol. Waste of money, and because of him, we'll have to raise funds and will struggle to keep other useful players like Politano and Balde.

I'm happy Marotta is in charge now and hopefully he puts an end to this non-sense of signing players like Lautaro that we don't even need, allowing guys like Gagliardini, Vecino, Vecino and even Joao Mario to start in the midfield.
