Report: Montella, Samp agree terms

Sampdoria have agreed a deal with Vincenzo Montella to replace Walter Zenga according to widespread reports, but Fiorentina must release him first.

Zenga is believed to be on the way out of the Stadio Marassi today, although no official announcement has been made yet.

Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset have both reported that a deal until 2017 with Montella has been agreed.

However, he is still attached to former club Fiorentina, as there is a clause in his contract which stipulates that €4m needs to be paid to terminate the contract.

Luigi Del Neri and Eugenio Corini are widely believed to be the two most likely targets should the deal for number one choice Montella fall through.

Don't Samp play a very different style of football than the one Montella deploys? I ask because I have not seen many of Samp's games and if that is indeed the case (which I think it is) it will be an uphill task for Montella to implement his way of possession football on the players mid season.

its going to be ifficult for montella and its also a terrible lck of foresight. samps most expensive transfer in the summer was a 22 year old brazilian holding midfielder and ferrero just signed a coach who doesnt use holding midfielders. he also doesnt have any pizarro's, aquilani's, valero's, even at catania he had almiron and lodi. soriano is a good player but he isnt good enuogh a passer to succeed in his tactics. who else? palombo? barreto? lazaros??? bonazzoli also looks pretty much fucked.
