Good match against Lazio. With a lot of our midfield injured it is his time to show.

Some words from the youngster

Pelé: "Thanks to Mancini and my team-mates"

MILAN - Portuguese Under-21 international Pelé spoke to the media after making his first start for the Nerazzurri in Wednesday's win over Lazio.

"I got on well on the pitch and my team-mates helped me do well," he said. "I thank the coach for giving me this chance. He congratulated me at the end of the end and told me I had done well.

"Now I have to continue to work hard and seriously to show I deserved this chance, and to repay the faith of those who wanted me here (at Inter.)

"Am I expecting the coach to continue to play me? I train every day to try to convince the coach to put me on the pitch, then it's up to him to choose and I respect his decisions.

"But I am convinced I can do well."

I noticed after I posted :)

Then we hope for Bolzoni from start vs PSV and Pele (+ Bolzini perhaps?:)) vs Reggina in Coppa.

I reckon Bolzoni is different in positions frmom Pele it's just that Mancio is playing Pele in a more defensive duty in midfield than he shoud be, the guy's dribbling is not bad and in Portugal, especially with the U-21 he was always attcking more than I saw him playing with Inter, Bolzoni is more defensive I reckon while Pele is more offensive.

Perhaps you're right. I don't know too much.

But let's agree on hoping they can be useful for many years :)

he was very good today considering it was his first game..

This wasn't his first game, he played few times before even though he came in as a sub!

It's wierd how no one believed Pele was a talent when we got him, probably because his transfer was very low key which we as inter fans aren't used to!

But I thought different, I had confidence that Mancini wouldn't get a player unless he had talent, I was awaiting for him to start playing and show us what he's got! it just doesn't make much sens to get a player who couldn't play! so I was eagerly waiting for Pele to get his chance, and I have a feeling, he might be here to stay.

I was especially impressed by his crossing skills, and his shooting from outside the box was surprisingly good! let's hope he keeps developing!

Ok..his first starting game ....in Serie A for Inter

i never wrote the young man off if anything i was positive when we signed him..

and whatever you wrote later in the post i more or less posted something along those lines when we signed him

especially the bit "why would we sign players unless Mancio wanted them and saw something in them"..:)

but maybe i interpreted your focus on my post somewhat a tad negative :)

I hope he'll play today. He handled Lazio so he can surely handle Torino. It's not like he's alone either and should he play badly he can just come off. All players have off-days and youngsters even more so.

I just hope Mancini doesn't squeeze in Cesar and play a 4-4-2.

J.Zanetti and h
If he is challenging for a spot as a serious centeral defensive midfielder I think he needs to bulk up a bit. I know he is only 20 years old but I dont know if a top club can handle having a sticks and bones type player battling it out game in and game out in the middle of the park.

That small criticism aside he has stepped up his game this week and seems to be really maturing as a player. At the beginning he was only make lateral passes and dropping back. Now yo can see him looking to make that harder pass forward and getting into positions where is team mater are going to want to pass him the ball.

I didn't mean anything by it, just pointing a technical detail that's all. I didn't mean you, I was only speaking in general!!!

Good game by him when he came on, he did everything right I can't believe how Mancini believes in him so much to put him in a derby but the gamble paid off :)

JZ.
he was good and he is starting to develop and seems he is not fearing play as in his first matches today he tried to shoot twice and was not afraid from missing.

Exactly. Must've been great feeling for him to step in on such an important match. Not just for the athmosphere of it, but also the knowledge he is trusted enough to play in such a game. Hopefully he'll continue in a positive way. Surely this December has been the month of his life.
