Thought he looked really classy at times yesterday. His touch with his left foot is special. However his right leg is really just for running and nothing else.

Needs to work on finding a way to create enough separation to play a forward pass that breaks the lines. It’s not easy for him because he isn’t blessed with pace. He’s not ever going to be a pacey winger who can beat you on the edge.

Support striker or Mezzala is probably the best role for him. Something more central would play to his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.

I also think that mezzala is good position for him. He has an eye for the positioning of his teammates and good technique and dribbling, so he can be tried there. But, he will be after Frattesi in the pecking order, so it's maybe better to spend another season on loan instead.

Mezzala role for Carboni would mean he wouldn't come back to Inter next summer. He's way too offensive minded at the moment and a lack of proper experience would make it impossible for anyone to consider him a mezzala yet. That being said, I'm also seem him being central player, SS / AM / mezzala, but more likely an offensive player than mezzala. Maybe Mkhitaryan career route with more offensive game at the early stage of his career and then later shifting further down on the pitch?

I don't really see Colpani as a midfielder either. I guess he could work in that role with time, both both Colpani and Carboni have much more offensive roles in Monza's setup. With Mkhi, I believe Mourinho moved him to a deeper role in Roma's last season before he joined us.

I think it would be a waste to play him as a mezzala; despite I agree he has all the traits needed to play there, but I think he is really talented and intelligent for his age, like he should be playing as a SS with a lot of freedom to roam and appear where he sees fit eventually, but whatever Monza has for him is very well for his development, playing as one of the dual AMF roles, which has some structure, but also some freedom. (I still believe it is easier for someone to develop with some sort of framework that they can follow and learn the ropes to start off with)

Even his pressing was quite amazing to me, like before the Inter and the Inter game, like he doesn't press like Toro and run relentlessly, but the position he gets ready for the press and the timing he sprints is very good, it causes a lot of errors on the other end.

I am not very worried about his lack of pace, cause great/good SS don't necessarily have pace; Think Baggio, Griezmann, (old) Messi, Bergkamp

Carboni is definitely not a mezzala. He is a support striker or a central attacking midfielder. Colpani is the guy if you want an attacking mezzala who can replace Mikhitaryan.

Vice Thuram more likely. It depends on Arna and Sanchez. Carboni can become 3rd option striker, unless Taremi comes in. If Klassen leaves, that is the extra spot for Carboni.

Eh, he'd be more of a replacement for Sanchez. CAM or SS are his roles. He doesn't have the speed or strength of
Thuram but he's a more creative and skillful player.

I guess we're thinking of going with Lautaro, Thuram, Taremi, Arnautovic, and Carboni next year. Carboni being CT gives us an extra roster spot. Maybe we find a place to ship Arnautovic, but I doubt it. Very slim to no chance comes back.

I'd be happy if he came back next year but I wouldn't mind if we loaned him out one more time also. He's got good potential and I'd hate to see him get Sanchez-esque minutes.

I don't see us bringing him back next season tbh. Especially if the Taremi deal goes through, given Arnautovic still has a year on his contract.

It would be important to make the right loan move for him - a team where he would be a starter.

Monza block Carboni’s Inter return​

According to Tuttosport newspaper, Monza have decided against terminating Valentin Carboni’s loan in January, so the 18-year-old will only return to Inter at the end of the season.

The Nerazzurri had reportedly sounded out Monza’s availability to end Carboni’s loan in the winter transfer window as the Argentinean would have offered Simone Inzaghi one more option in attack in the second part of the campaign.

However, according to Wednesday’s printed edition of Tuttosport on page 14, Monza director Adriano Galliani has decided to keep the promising striker at the U-Power Stadium until the end of the season.

Carboni has made 14 Serie A appearances with Monza this season, scoring two goals and delivering three assists.

West Ham call Inter for Valentin Carboni​

Reports in Italy claim that West Ham United made a large offer for Valentin Carboni, who is on loan at Monza, but Inter refused point blank.

The second striker will turn 19 in March and is already getting call-ups to the senior Argentina squad.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Premier League club is prepared to make a proposal worth €11m in order to sign Carboni in the January transfer window.

However, his parent club Inter is not interested in a sale at this stage of his career, confident that he can yet flourish and grow even further.

He spent time in the Lanus academy before moving to Catania and then Inter, released on loan to Monza this season to gain regular playing time.

The decision has certainly paid off, with two goals and three assists in 14 Serie A appearances.

His contract runs to June 2028 and Carboni is seen as one of the future talents of the Inter squad, to act as a partner to Lautaro Martinez.
