At 18 (and at 19) Asllani was still playing for Empoli primavera. So Carboni getting Asllani minutes at 18 wouldn't be bad at all. Also Asllani's playing time last season wasn't as bad as people want to believe. He still ended up with over 800 minutes. It would be massive for Carboni to get similar playing time.

The problem is if you're only willing to give Carboni garbage minutes like we did last season. Then better send him elsewhere to grow.

If you choose to keep a youngster as a first team player then you need to have a proper plan to develop him.

I meant to be like Asllani now. Bench warmer at the age of 18. Asllani is 21 at least.

That's what i mean. Carboni getting 2022/23 Asllani minutes would be a good way to develop him. Asllani had to wait till he was 20 to get minutes at pro level. Pro minutes >>>> Primavera minutes

Ok. But he won't get so much minutes as a 6th midfielder. For me is better to go to serie B at club where he will be starter.
But everyone has his own opinion about it.

Agreed but we're in Italy. It isn't so easy to find a club that will start an 18th year old they don't even own unless he's a generational talent.

Anyway, this is a totally hypothetical discussion. Inter never saw Carboni as something more than a 5th option in attack so staying at Inter was never an option.

But if he goes to serie B club to be a starter won't he be at risk to get injured as you suggested above? Or do you mean he will become vulnerable to injury only if he stays at Inter?

He won't play 3 games per week, and there the tempo is lower. And under starter, I mean to play most of the games. At 18 years, I don't really expect fully 90 min to be given to him every match.

He is getting more minutes at Monza recently. After scoring I assume he'll continue to get minutes and hopefully more of them. He also looked lively in another match I watched where he came close to scoring - it was against Torino.

After the first 9 matches, he only had 6 minutes of playtime. Since then, he's played 5 games in a row.

Kid looks a talent for sure. He would probably have added more to our side than Sanchez if we were willing to give youth a chance. Look at the impact Yildiz has been making at Juve for example. Not saying any two young players are the same but we have one of the most highly rated young players in the league here.

Our system relies heavily on strikers being involved all the time, being focused on their tasks. I don't think Carboni was up to the task yet.

Him starting at Monza now is great. We should keep it like that. This spring and next summer is important for this kid. If he grows up a lot now he might have a chance to make it to the squad. More probable is another season on loan and then coming to Inter in the summer of 2025 of the development has gone forward as planned (plans and eventual reality usually don't align in these things though).

Goal and assist in the first half already. The Monza loan is not looking so bad anymore. He's played 10 games in a row and his 2nd start in a row too.

We need to keep a hold of him. He generally looks very good when I see him and is obviously talented. He's only 18 years old so being able to get minutes like this for Monza is pretty impressive especially as it seemed they weren't keen to give him too many minutes at the start, given it's a dry loan. Sounds like he has impressed and won a part in the rotation.

Yes, but he needs to play not to sit on the bench and get 10 min at the end.
Yes obviously he needs to be given the type of minutes that the reserve strikers are getting.

I don't remeber rating Dimarco highly, ever, and he turned out amazing. It's worth the risk. That GK from Monza as well is looking like a proper Serie A GK, but we missed that chance afaik
