Just like in the Calciopoli era, although this time in a broader sense, we are faced with an uneven battle against all kinds of international retardation and twisted narratives, from media to fans to club's players (low IQ retards that are being paid handsomely to kick a ball and fuck models) thinking that our club is some joke. Now, many FIFers are the same reactive little shits that want instant gratification and start whining the moment something doesn't go as they want it to. Yeah, I'm also disappointed but I have a brain that still functions fairly well and for a new squad/coach combo I'd give an arm and a leg if you were to offer me top-of-the-table and barely-missing-out-on-qualifying-from-the-group-of-death-in-CL before the start of the season. That of course combined with the bad luck of a disastrous injury crisis and the fact that Slavia turned out to be no push-overs, so the group of death was actually really that.
So yeah, let's not buy into the popular narrative that we are underperforming. We are in fact overachieving. And yes, I hear brehme saying "but we spent all that money" and yeah, we did spend a lot of money, part of that money is going to be recuperated with the sales of Icardi, Perisic, J. Mario and Gabigol. Everything else we did was to get a better foundation for a proper TEAM and we clearly have that. Results will follow suit, it is inevitable. Maybe not a Triplette in his first season, like some of you imagine, but Conte will provide in due time. Just like Spalletti did to the best of his capacity in the previous two seasons.
