His finishing was piss poor but he gets selected because of his work rate and his off the ball work. Decent squad player but Jose trusted him almost all big games.

Every player is different mate. Lingard was physically very weak so IIRC he was played with below his age group players. When Lingard was 19, Fergie said Lingard will be first team player when he is 23 or 24 when he is properly developed physically and that's exactly what happened.

He isn't going to be a star player or first team player but he is good squad player.

probably the latter. milan and fiorentina also don't seem to enjoy too much the idea of playing it from third preliminary round.

by the way, preliminary rounds only serve the purpose of creating the illusion that a much larger number of teams will take part in the competition.

they should just cut some teams and the preliminary rounds as well.

He was superb defensively but offered nothing going forward. He was MOTM contender without a doubt, didn't put a foot wrong. He had very good season playing as LB.

Such a relief winning Europa. We controlled the game completely and Ajax barely created any chance. It was classic Jose's game.
