Stop being delusional, we wouldn’t have had a chance if we have qualified instead of Tottenham. Yea they bearly made it out of our group blah blah the knock out rounds they did their job.

Don't have one.
lol for everyone bitter enough to think we could have recreated what tottenham did if we could have passed the group stage.:D
And they should be thankful to psv even more than spalleti, how about that for a perspective.

How so?

We didn't rely on other teams failing to get through the group. We didn't get through on goal difference. We just had a classic Inter moment at Kiev and essentially threw them out with two away goals and two games to go since we forced Barcelona to drop points early and they had lost to Rubin at home.
We beat one of the favorites (Chelsea) home & away.
We beat a tough team (CSKA) home & away.
We beat the best team (Barcelona) with ease at home and struggled away because we were down to 10.

How is anything even remotely similar to Tottenham getting through because Asamoah fucked up vs PSV and we couldn't finish the job, Sainsbury getting a deflected own goal in to give them hope

Tottenham only beat Dortmund with ease, a Dortmund team that was out of form at the time actually. Then didn't really deserve to go through vs Man City nor vs Ajax as they were dominated, but they got some goals as a gift from the defences.

I'm strugging to see anything similar other than both teams making the CL final.

P.S: Just realized that Lucas Moura scored all three goals with his left foot.

Everyone saying that Ajax stopped playing in 2nd half is fucking delusional. Just remember the number of times they hit the post or had very near misses, including Ziyech very late in the game. Both teams were amazing, Ajax completely trashed Tottenham in first half and weren’t THAT terrible in second half, they just weren’t lucky enough plus Tottenham really stepped up an honestly Pochettino did a great job with those subs (fuck you, Spalletti).

Really unfortunate. Now Ajax will go the way of Monaco; all the young talented players will be sold to the European elite and we won't hear from the club for another five years.

I would rather say that them getting through looked very similar to us getting into CL last season.

Ajax did well on the counter because of their ability to get into better attacking positions and having more technical players but were completely outplayed in the second half when Tottenham went direct and put Llorente on. They only started playing better when the they conceded the second goal but as time winded down it was all Tottenham til the end.

Juventus-Milan was not shit.

The game had at least clear cut chances for both teams that would have resulted into a goal and also had a moment where it hit the woodwork.
If you judge a game by its scoreline and think that more goals = better game, then you need to re evaluate what football is.

The only final that was genuinely boring was the 2008 one. Literally fell asleep only to be woken up for the pk shootout. Such a snooze fest, stadium was too fucking quiet and the quality was piss poor. Watched it again the following days and thank fuck I had fallen asleep.

I agree.I understood that era.You took off an attacker and brought in a defender and saw out a game. You could kill off a game diving a little and breaking the momentum. Now i am confused.Maybe its a function of our age.As you grow older you get more disenchanted and the problems of the world seem magnified whilst ofcourse they will be dealt with dont worry. But also how do you make sense of the changing world? Is it steroids? How do they keep this frantic pace up for 90 minutes midweek and do the same on the weekend. Its so fast now.Cant believe just like that Ajax are done for 2 decades or maybe even more. And to think i was a huge Jesper Gronkjaer fan as a child and they were my Dutch team since they were playing the likes of Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in the UCL around 97-98.Its too fast man.I want it to slow down.Like the 2003 final.Thats my 2nd favourite final after 2010.I understood it all back then.I was young. Now i dont get how it could be so fast.I want it to slow down.I want life to slow down.I feel doomed.Condolences to the Dutch fans here.Atleast Dutch football is back with these young uns.Hopefully we see Italian football back too like how the three of us were in the UCL semifinal in 2003 and maybe defense will be back too. That was my romance. But 2003 was really a rearguard action. What i loved [the Italian way] was already finito by then.

Spurs are a disgusting club. We should be ashamed for being a mere catalyst for their way to the final. No, we wouldn't do better out of groups, we would've been knocked out by Dortmund. But that's not the point.

Thing is, they are a disgusting club, and we are at fault for this great disaster in football history.

Should've let Lazio win last year so they would be at fault.

Now back to work, lose the rest of three games and do no more damage to football next year.

As for the final, fuck it. It's not worth watching it.

But if spurs win, don't even watch football ever after. It would be the end of the Football World.

Our Ajax targets will cost us less now, as compared to them reaching final or had they won it.

We wouldn't stand a chance because we collapsed completely after November like we always do. Before that we were a better team than Spurs.

This CL has been a clusterfuck of epic proportions. These "upsets" like Rube winning 3-0, Barca losing 4-0, etc... are all happening because top players just don't give a shit anymore (here I applaud Ronaldo for actually trying for a couple of those games unlike his peers). They play for a paycheck. Do people really think if Barca was giving it 100% they couldn't close the 3-0 advantage?

Tbh, this Spurs team and their way to the final is VERY similar to ours. Like VERY.

Delete this post. We beat prime Barca, the best club of all time.

Wild Champions League this season. After Real Madrid's utter dominance, it's a nice change of pace. Feel bad for the Ajax squad. I thought they had the whole "destiny" thing going for them but Spurs did well to turn the game on it's head in that 2nd half.

Ajax will now be gutted for their star players come summer which is a shame.

What was 99% Cruyff's Legacy final between Ajax and Barca. This was completely nuclear destroyed by EPL clubs . Amazing comebacks from death in 2 nights.

Spurs spent 0 .0000000000 past summer. And yet they are arriving high.

If Spurs wins it , Arsenal and Rube fans will have a meltdown.

Of course Ajax shat their pants. It was all a fluke to begin with. At least we got some nice football.

Kicking out Real, Juve and losing a semifinal 3-3 on aggregate was a fluke? What?

This was a great team by Ajax and they deserve major props for this CL season.
