I've said this probably a dozen times but the great (and horrendous) irony is that we could've just used Zanetti as a permanent LB and it would've been an excellent solution. Not only to the chronic LB problem with shitters like Favalli, Grosso, Pereira, post-injury Chivu, Nagatomo etc. It would've also taken Zanetti out of midfield where, to be completely honest, he was not the most effective contributor. But no, that's not the Inter way. Instead we had to spend millions upon millions on crap left backs and use Zanetti out of position in midfield.
