Really? That is lame!

However, since it's the 'King's' cup, it would be important for them. A Catalan or Basque club would care less, I guess.

Kings Cup is the spanish cup..

you have to know AS....the guys there are truely lunatic. If you understand a bit of spanish, you should try to read articles of Tomas Roncero or Gatti.
Really...you haven't seen anything like this in your whole life.

LOOL! Sure :)

One of them was that after the Cadiz-Real game when Robinho had his debut, they said that robinho did in one game more than Ronaldinho in 2 years.

Before the Clasico, they were talking of 4-1 wins for real...after the game, the weekly chat with tomas roncero(MAD MAD MADRIDISTA) was cancelled for 2-3 weeks.

You can also have a best of here..

http://football.guardian.co.uk/continentalfootball/story/0,,1500447,00.html

and his weekly chats are classics....I have to keep you updated on some stuff he says..

anyway...good game by Giuly today..although he was VERY unlucky. and the last minute tackle my rafa really made my day...

also good that athletic scored in the last minute of the basque derby...they have to stay alive..

Dinho has a lot of skills, taking PK's isn't one of them!

He just seems uncomfortable taking PK's, I think this is the second or third PK he missed this year.

Anyway, Messi has to be in the world cup, simple as that. Even if it means benching Riquelme, he has to go. Him, Crespo and Tevez must start up front, sometimes you have to take chances!

Messi or Aguero... i don't care who Moratti bring in a couple of years, both have an excellent future and both are great players with only 17 and 18 years old...

The thing about Aguero is, he had only been tested in the Argentinian league. Who knows how he'll do in the big leagues? He could turn up to be just another Saviola or Cavenaghi.

Messi is a freak. I wanna see a birth certificate! :dazed: Funny fact about Messi though, he had to change his jersey number from 30 to 19 because an official player registered to the LFP has to chose a number of 1-24, if I'm not wrong.

No one goes ahead of Riquelme to the WC. In a season where Figueroa, Forlan and the entire attack of Villareal has been off, he has single handidly kept them in the CL, and in with a shot of a top 2-6 finish again.

I'd still say Tevez is ahead of Messi aswell.

correct..

Messi is more a playmaker than a goalscorer, while tevez is more a goalscorer...
It's a tough task for Pekerman to keep balance of his squad...and yes, comparisons with Maradona are not right, but similar to Maradona keeping Napoli alive and being able to mess with the big teams, Riquelme is doing this with another rather small team. The guy IS Villareal. I was really happy when he joined Barca back then, but unfortunately, or given that we have Ronaldinho now fortunately, neither Antic nor Van Gaal really knew how to use him. On the other hand, Van Gaal didn't know how to use Rivaldo either.

I can't remember that Rivaldo - Van Gaal era all that well now but wasn't Rivaldo playing very well when Van Gaal was in charge? If I'm not wrong, he was used as an offensive left winger and he averaged 17-20 goals per season, right? So in what way did Van Gaal misused him?

He couldn't really handle him and most probably, if he had been given a more free role in central midfield, instead of using litmanen and I don't know whom else, he could have been even better.
but the thing was, that rivaldo and van gaal always beefed up and van gaal was the reason he left barca in 2002, after playing a fantastic world cup. Rivaldo was typical brazilian, but he was a genius..he could have done much more with Barca with the right handling.

btw. I had promised you "Dr.Roncero" chats from AS...

http://www.as.com/edigitales/entrevista.html?encuentro=1897

I will translate the best of....catanha could surely translate much more. This guy is fully bananas..

here some parts:

Hello crack(crack = star or something in spanish) of the media! I am a madridista from Barcelona, I begin to be tired of ronaldinho… you do not think that robinho will become much better than him? When you think that finally the fortune will change? Think that for Barcelona-Madrid winning, we could be leaders? 1 MERENGUEABRAZO(one love, one hug)!

my sentiments for all the madridistas of Catalonia. Calm, Barça will end up gaining this boring Liga and all without emotion. Etoo and Ronaldinho will soon forget their smile and Chelsea is going to eliminate them again. The laughter is going to change soon..

Hello master and cultor of madridismo. We are unstoppable, Barcelona begins to show weaknesses and the new signings are two authentic PHENOMENA! I am going to be direct: When you think that we will be put leaders? We will have a new great signing next season, a true crack!!!

Thanks to you. Only I can decirte that Ibrahimovic is one of cracks that pleases me more and more and that Cole is very advanced. The Champions League is to take. The 17th of May we see ourselves in Paris.

you're welcome..

but I have to say, this is far from the best he has..
a friend told me that the real cracker are his appearances on RealMadrid TV, where he is just out of his mind. And when Real had a run last season, he really thought of winning EVERYTHING. The guy is freaking unbelievable but he lost a bit of his grip after El Clasico but now slowly he seems to get back his Mojo .

But that is the point, Riqulme thrives when he is the main man and the focal point of the team. Come World Cup, he won't be to Argentina what he is to Villareal. There is Aimar/Messi and Tevez as well, and other playmakers.

He won't get every ball, and this will affect his performance. Also, as I mentioned before, he is a 'slow-motion' genius, and I don't think that suits Argentina's style.

Also, an effective man-marker can cancel him out. We all so what happened at the Confed cup when Emerson kept him at bay, and Argentina didn't play too well.

But I feel for Pekerman, it will be a hard decision to incorporate Riquelme into the team, and even harder to bench him. But I will go for a triad of Crespo, Tevez and Messi.

effing unbelievable..

ronaldinho gets a match-ban for the valencia game, after the spanish fa insisted that the red card against him in the cup game was a red card. Now he will miss the valencia game too.
against atletico we will 100% be without ronaldinho, eto'o, xavi and edmilson.
it's probable with deco, puyol and marquez.

I guess these aholes have to do their best, to make the league a close call.

Solari-esque miss by Messi against Mallorca btw. :dielaugh: Funny dude though, he scored 2 great goals in the game.

The red card given to Ronaldinho is an absolute joke. It wasn't even a dangerous tackle. If that was considered worth of an expulsion from the pitch, then we won't have a complete 90 minutes match because all the players would have been sent off...It was heart-breaking to see Ronnie's reaction when he was sent off though. :( Even though I don't like him that much (Not as in dislike).

Yeah, that was stupid. I have seen worse go unpunished.

And since when do red cards in cups carry over to leagues? I think only English FA does it, but it's stupid.
