We were content with the statement because we were winning games. But what if the players decided not to play? Or the players just cant click themselves? I mean what’s the purpose of the coach if he lets the players play more freely (in comparison to what they have been under Conte)? Looking back, it was a shitty thing to say.. but he just exposed himself that way.

I mean, players have been shit, no doubt, all of them. But let’s not forget that 80% of the players are the same who won the trophies last two seasons and won games comfortably. It’s incredible the difference in the way we play. We are so clueless. Every player on the pitch are point to each others because they dont know what they are doing, no guidance.

In my opinion the players lack ambition, drive in Serie A, unlike the CL where the whole world is watching them on.
Why should the players care if Inter reaches top4 or not? There is no stability in management (Will Suning sell or not? Will the players be sold or not?) So much uncertainty, and if you combine that with the 'free spirit' from Inzaghi and letting players play more freely under these circumstances, you create a recipe for disaster.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier, he can't just help the team enough. They went from Conte, hard-ass regime where everything was told to them, trained to automation, to Inzaghi, where there's more freedom to express themselves. Issue is, these guys are not THAT good they can do it week in week out.

I agree that mostly we've created enough with this freedom to win matches but our finishing at appalling levels so we haven't won. But for example yesterday, we didn't create THAT much (clear cut chances). When the opponent is organized enough, we just can't create enough but also because of the freedom, our defence is too disorganized and take too many counters. Yesterday we didn't concede from one but from a corner which was unacceptable but that might be a smell of this general disorganization because did you see how easily Bastoni just GAVE up marking Caldirola. Unacceptable.

We cannot create enough against tight defenses, because we lack players, who can beat 1 or 2 opponents, and therefore to confuse the defense. We just passing around with the hope some of the wingbacks to cut inside and deliver a good ball in.

The problem with our defense is because when we need a goal, everyone goes to attack, leaving defenders exposed, and there is no system for a situation like that imo.

For that we need better players who can dribble and create, are lethal finishers, have speed, and can threaten the opponent through freekicks and long range shots. These are the characteristics which we severely lack.
