You guys are getting way too bogged down by literal definitions. Obviously if you replace Politano with Martinez on the left, you don't expect Martinez to imitate Politano. In fact that is the whole point of the change - you won't want Martinez to play like Politano (doing fancy tricks by the line which amount to nada). Martinez would be expected to play like a wide-forward, just like Keita does on the right when he plays.

Our wingers ain't working. We can keep playing Poliatno and Perisic till kingdom come, but our goal threat is pathetic. Its time to change tactics. What I was proposing if we sell Perisic is to buy a quality midfieder (Barella?) and play something like this:

Keita --- Icardi --- Martinez
Barella - Nainggolan
Brozovic
Asamoah - De Vrij - Skriniar - Soares
Handanovic

The idea of playing with 3 forwards is that they cut in and play 1-2s to try and score. The fullbacks can provide width and crosses, as it should be. What is the point of trying to play possession based football if you have only 1 lone forward heavily marked while everyone else is trying to cross to him? It doesn't fucking work. At least not with muppets like Poliatno and TAFKAP (The Artist Formerly Known As Perisic).

That's was my comment. These are 3 forwards, who should be changing places, and Keita and Lautaro would be wide forwards/SS, rather than traditional wingers. Lautaro wont work as winger, but as wide forward, he may. Even Politano has had his best games as WF/SS rather than wingers as he is playing now.

That's more like a Christmas tree in defence and 4-2-3-1 in attack but not as wide as our current tactics.

Icardi
Keita --- Martinez
Nainggolan
Barella ------------ Brozovic
Asamoah - De Vrij - Skriniar - Soares

Inter fans are the only people in the world who have been taught to think 0 isn't followed by 1 but by another 0, and another, and another...

Liverpool was once like that.

Liverpool was once like that.

Not like that.
Liverpool is my other team. And I follow them and Inter from many years.
In 2012 Inter appointed Strama and Liverpool Rodgers. both were in financial shit.
But from day one I saw at Liverpool a saw from day one a strategy, how to come out from the shit. And with all their hiccups, they kept it.
Inter was a living example of a headless chicken in this regard.

I hate admitting this because the ownership group is the same ownership group of the Boston Red Sox, and there might not be a team on earth I hate more than the Red Sox (been a baseball fan much longer than I've been a football fan, sorry), but since that group took control of the Red Sox organization, somewhere around 2001-2002 or whatever, there hasn't been a more successful franchise in MLB at winning championships than the Red Sox.

So the fact that they would have a plan that they have kept to, more-or-less, since taking control of Liverpool is no surprise at all. They've clearly proven their chops. And now they're looking to be on their way to more successes in the football realm as well.

This just tells how important the ownership of a club means. That's why it was fucking disaster with us at the latest years of Moratti because there was no plan. There never were any plans with Moratti. Then with Thohir the only plan was to reduce the cost structure, nothing else. Good for the future yes, but there were never any longer-term plan for getting the team to be top again. Only with Suning it was and is possible. And now Thohir the fuck out of the way, the road is open for us. Only now.

Quick google search says Ninja, Gags and Vecino might leave tomorrow :)

While awesome to get them off our wages and some cash for them. How are we going to let 3 MFs leave at the same time without a replacement

According to multiple reports, Marek Hamsik is close to a move to a Chinese team. There are conflincting reports about the figures of the deal though. According to Sky, the Chinese team have offered 15m to Napoli and 9m/season to Hamsik for a 3-year contract while Pedulla claims the offer to Napoli is 20m plus 5m bonuses. Ancelotti confirmed Hamsik is in negotiations and wants to go to China.

I always liked Hamsik. So wish he has a Scudetto in his career.

I probably don’t understand much, but I always thought he was over-rated. He was lucky to play at Napoli, where they kinda pushed and hoped that this guy gonna be the next leader after Maradona...they were trying hard for him to be that guy who brings them to the promised land.
And I never got the obsession they had for this guy....but ok. No one cares anyways :)

What you said did not really happen though.

Lavezzi was the only player they were hyping up. Guys like Cavani, Higuain and Hamsik were never on the hype level of La Bestia.

I know, but they made him the captain, and they sold the rest. So...

Is this sarcasm or trolling? Coz Hamsik is Napoli's all time highest goalscorer and has played more games for Napoli than anyone else in their club's entire history. He is their Totti, or in Inter terms he is their Zanetti & Meazza combined into one (club records wise).

His performances have dropped in the last couple of years with age, but before that he was one of the best AMs in Serie A for many years, regularly scoring 10+ goals and as many assists per season. Plus he has been a great leader for them. 407 games in Serie A, 100 goals and 90 assists, thats a brilliant output even if you don't consider his influence on their play/midfield (which used to be immense).

Napoli were very lucky to have him, and IMO Hamsik should have left to play for a top club and win a lot of silverware - similar to Totti.

Juve close in on Romero?
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Genoa defender Cristian Romero for a fee in the region of €30m.

According to Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti, an agreement is ‘now at the finish line’ after Romero managed to ‘fully convince’ Juve, who ‘firmly believe in his potential’.

The transfer expert writes the deal will be finalised in the next few weeks and pocket Genoa ‘around €30m’ with bonuses included.

The 20-year-old only joined the Grifone from Belgrano last summer but has already made 14 Serie A appearances, scoring one goal.

An Argentina Under-20 international, he would go straight into the Old Lady’s squad next season as opposed to return on loan to the Rossoblu.

He can also play at right-back and is described by Agresti as ‘a warrior with a strong personality and ample room for improvement.’
