6+5 will never happen

so .... we would have to trade all our best players for inferior ones....

Buffon currently is not as good as Cesar...

What italian defender is better than any of our current starters or even 2nd string or what about a strikers??

Only italian good enough for Inter is Rossi of Roma but for him we would have to spend the same as Fabergas and he isnt as good.

I'd stop following Inter if we signed De Rossi, its like Meelan signing Prisco.

We will not sign him.. Fans don't like him, and he doesn't like us.. And he would be too damn expensive, so i doubt he will ever play in our shirt...

Future Italia back 5 & Mario ???

There are problems with the 6+5 idea, but at least that way we could develop the future Italia back 4: Santon (RB), Ranocchia (DC), Bonucci (DC), Criscito (LB). Which could be the back 5 if we brought in a young Italian GK to replace Toldo, such as Castelazzi, Marchetti or Sirigu? [We already have Balotelli as the other Italian] This would allow us to pack our midfield and attack with creative flair players from Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Holland - so we would still be very strong??? ;) ;) ;)

The bonus of us signing De Rossi & Chiellini though would be to completely destroy the credibility of Roma & Juve as competitive teams...now that would be priceless!!!

I agree that neither of them are likely to come to us, but at the end of the day I am for whatever is in our best interest [and destroying the viability of the opposition is going to help us win more]. Just look at bringing in Ibra [I don' like the guy, but he brought us success], or Figo going to Real, Campbell going to Arsenal, Rui Costa going to AC, Albiol going to Real [meaning Valencia has no defence, 3 good players (Villa, Silva & Mata) and they are no longer a force in La Liga]???

Once Italians show some appreciation for Inter, Inter will show appreciation for Italians. Before that they can all fuck off to JuBe.

Once Italians are good enough for Inter and realistic too but then why not but we're not lowering the quality of the side for this.

Thank goodness no more worries about this BS. See fifa finally realised it would be illegal.

Fifa scraps plans for 'home-grown' player rule

Fifa boss Sepp Blatter has dropped the '6+5' plan

Fifa has said it will scrap plans for a minimum of six "home-grown" players in clubs' starting line-ups.
The so-called "6+5" rule had been expected to be brought in by 2012 but has now been abandoned.
Football's world governing body, at its congress in South Africa ahead of the World Cup kick-off, said it will now look at "other eligibility" options.
BBC Sport understands the European Commission said such a proposal would contravene EU labour laws.
From next season, the Premier League will bring in a system where there must be eight home-grown players in squad of 25.
Also at the congress in Johannesburg, Fifa president Sepp Blatter said he would seek another term of office next year.
"I have not yet completed my mission as president of Fifa, I am motivated to go for another term," said the 74-year-old Swiss who has held the post since 1998.
He was then interrupted by applause from delegates before adding: "Thank you for your confidence. I would like to say we will go for it together. I am ready, you are ready."
Delegates also decided to keep an age limit of 23 with three over-age players permitted per team for the London 2012 Olympic football tournament.
There had been pressure from clubs to make it an under-21 competition.
But the International Olympic Committee warned that any change could affect the number of teams allowed in the event.
Barcelona and German sides Werder Bremen and Schalke all won a ruling in 2008 against being forced to released their players for the Beijing Games.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled as the Olympics was not on Fifa's international calendar, the clubs were not obliged to release the players.

Stupid FIFA, this had no chance from the beginning. The EU law is very clear on this.

In general, I think it's good for clubs to have a few home grown players, but with the way European Football is heading, I could see us in a European Superleague one day, and then this stuff won't matter.

It wasn't rather about being illegal. It's about fairness. There is some good point in this rule but imo, it shouldn't be 5-6. Maybe 3/4-8/7 rather.

In Brazil they have 8+3...I think it would be cool if European clubs got to the point they could effectively do this.
