Croatia actually deserve to be this far. But England definitely have overachieved

On their starting lineup, sure, but you could tell these players are super gased. They just haven't had it in in them to finish off a game in these knockouts without dragging it out every single time.

Teams like France, Brazil, and Belgium have the squad depth that Croatia doesn't. If they were on the left side of the bracket, I'd be surprised if they even made it to the semis. I mean they replaced Strinic with some dude who's not even a starter at Dynamo Kiev. Outside of their midfield, they're super thin.

The English have been saying "it's coming home" for over 20 years, and at every major tournament they fail. They'll still be saying it 20 years later and still be disappointing themselves.

English footballers are rubbishing. They never have and never will produce the type of player it takes to make the difference.

Thats a bit of an over reaction. This is a very young English team, and whatever you say they had a good tournament by their standards. Reaching the Semis will give these kids a lot of confidence for the next 2 world cups. There is a lot more young talent coming up in England, just look at how well their youth teams are doing at different age levels. Maybe its not as much talent as the French, but its better than it ever was for England in at least 50 years.

England may be a top 8 team today, but it will be a top 4 team in coming years. And by that I mean "contenders". And thats coming from me, I have never thought of England as contenders in my lifetime.

Gutted. Croatia deserved it though, I still hope they win it.

Im sorry, but i think if England had have met a good team earlier they would have got nowhere near the semi final. They really aren't that good. Maybe in a few years who knows, but this tournament really flattered them and they collapsed against the first decent team they played.

Oh God, we will now have to endure another fucking Belgium-England friendly in the same World Cup. Fuck the 3rd place game, never saw any point in it.

Harry Kane, has to be the MOST OVERATED forward in EPL!
Also the most undeserving World Cup top scores in history. Maybe thy Russian from 1994 forgot his name, is up there too.

True. Thats what I said before too. But the following is what I am objecting against:

English footballers are rubbishing. They never have and never will produce the type of player it takes to make the difference.

You can only beat the teams you end up facing, its not England's fault that Germany, Argentina and Spain fucked up. England did well for its level and experience. A lot of the English squad are young, and a loss like this can only make them stronger. There is talent there. I am sad to admit, England have more talent coming up than Italy.

I can understand the unreasonable England hate here. The biased English commentary & hyping media does not help. But I am just keeping it real.

I loved understanding between Rakitic, Modric and Brozovic. Those simple passes what are making difference, can’t wait to see Radja, Brozovic and one more guy? to do the same.

Happy to see that a Brozovic is definitely on that level.

England team surprised me Even if you end uip playing weaker teams you need heart and grit to advance in tournaments like this . Its the first time i see English players doing good and i think the y have good team i am happy for croatia coz of brozo and perisic but i dont understand after England took second goal they just passed the ball to their keeper not even one single random long cross . Even their keeper didnt go upfront at the last setpiece its like they were not playing semifinal wth . They got carried away with all the fanboys its coming home they underestimated Croatia i think

Didn't say they didn't have a good tournament, it was an over achievement when you measure them against the other semi finalists. But pound for pound they don't have that next level player (or players) it takes to win these major tournaments. England have never produced the calibre required to do it and I simply don't see that in this current crop. A midfield with Henderson compared to a midfield with Modric speaks volumes.

Well done England. Road to the 3rd place final and all we can remember is playing two friendlies against Belgium.

First knockout game in the WC that ended before PKs. Croatia's easiest game arguably to the final

P.S: Can someone tell me why the fuck Pickford didn't move to Croatia's area when they had a set piece just outside with seconds to go?

Impressive comeback by Croatia, and also a fantastic performance by Brozo and Perisic as well. Though Perisic could have easily had a couple of more goals but he was unlucky on that shot that hit the post and also on that clear chance which Kramaric was being a selfish bastard.

Croatia has managed to step up their game in the right time. Tonight they were much better than against Russia or Denmark though.

I was thinking the same. There's always a chance of pulling a Brignoli.

Yeah they arent as bad as that. I hate the media but after fhe first half of this game i was genuinely thinking fair play to them and southgate because they were great in the first half. But they couldn't react once croatia took control.

I think if you look at their team 10-15 years ago they definitely had that quality. Beckham, scholes, lampard, Gerrard, ferdinand, terry, cole, rooney. They were great individually and underacheived massively.

We were kind of shit all though the tournament like always, but we got to the semis in extra time, so I have props for that. And Gareth Southgate is the man the best English manager in my life time tbh. Please pretty please Croatia*wins the whole thing.
