Cambiasso: "Team and club behind Leonardo"
"The team and the club are squarely behind Leonardo.
The fans are behind us as well," continued Cambiasso. "They showed how fond they are of these players who only a few months ago raised the Club World Club." Cambiasso stressed that "we are the only team to be challenging on all three fronts, maybe someone has forgotten that.
We lost two important matches but we can still put things right. It would have been worse had we suffered that defeat in Germany because then we would have been eliminated from the Champions League like all of the other Italian teams."
According to Cambiasso, "the matches should be analysed but this is neither the time, nor the place. In the Champions League match we had two opportunities to score. If we had scored, no one would be talking about a negative result or fatigue now. Then if we hadn't received those red cards... There really are a lot of things to analyse."
Zanetti: "Leonardo, extraordinary and a real man"
The two defeats in the league, against AC Milan and in the Champions League have not tarnished the high esteem in which the Nerazzurri players hold their coach Leonardo: "He's a real man," said Javier Zanetti, captain of Inter, after the presentation of the 'Tazzina del Capitano' organized by fondazione Pupi. "He's an extraordinary man under every aspect. He has confidence in us and we have confidence in him." Zanetti then added that he has known Leonardo "for ten years.
Since he arrived here, Inter have changed: I believe we should go ahead with him because we get on very well."
Zanetti also added that the Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti "has always stood by us, there's no reason to lose faith in this team." At this difficult time for the team, Inter captain Javier Zanetti wanted to stress the harmony in his squad: "Criticism? I know how to do my job and this is normal; some people just can't wait for times like this.
We lose two matches and we read statements that I honestly can't understand, but in any case these do not affect the team." :depress: I hope they never read this forum :depress:
The Argentine stressed that "this team has been winning for six years. There were two matches where the positive aspects can't be cancelled." Inter, for the captain, "is in the running for all of the competitions. We want to go all the way," he said." We know that in the Champions League things will be difficult, but nothing is impossible and we'll play our game." Finally, as regards the criticism of the attacking formation, "we have played with this formation before and things went fine," said the defender. "
Errors were made but we will continue. Now we're looking ahead and we are thinking about Chievo, then we'll think about the Champions League calmly, we know what we are worth."
