I was with half heart to bring Lukaku back. Because the brings a degree of certainty in our attack. But those 40m and his salary is too much for our possibilities. My 2 cents about what happened. Marotta probably tried, as the most here advocate, a game of chicken with Chelsea, until they reduce their pretentions. To be honest, I'm not particularly upset. I think when he was a card on the table, he was the "least risky" card, but now that card is off the table, I'm really interested to see what we do.

The decision on the striker we sign this summer will either make or break the club for the next few years, imho. A good decision will really propel us to a new age. A bad one will be an absolute fucking disaster.

I liked Lukaku because he took a lot of 'risk' out of that decision in the sense that we'd probably still score loads of goals, but limited resell value

Now that decision is in our hands, and it seems everyone is in favour of a guy who scores less in Serie A than Correa does sometimes. Dont get me wrong, he's probably a great player, esp as a young guy with only one season of Serie A under his belt, but it IS a risky as fuck decision
