  1. He was out for 70% of the season with injury and Dzeko had been playing well, therefore Dzeko starting was justified
  2. Even though he started on the bench in the CL final, it was he who was spoonfed a chance to be the hero but bottled it
  3. Despite being a loser who cost them a CL final, the club still somehow believed in him and wanted to buy him permanently next season
  4. Dzeko was also leaving the club and he would be the undisputed starter next season

Imo two almost goal line blocks in two finals were too much, and he wanted hard reset aka new team. He already collected too much meme points in our shirt and his ego couldn't handle it. That's my theory of why he wanted out, especially after the deal with juve collapsed.

Ffs there is a popular insta page where some overweight black dude in inter shirt imitates how bad he is. You would imagine that he wants another fresh start in a different shirt.

The Shakhtar one wasn't a final, but it secured that we'd not play in Europe come spring.

He scored a nice own goal in the EL final.

They overplayed their hand because they were dealing with a club (Inter) that was desperate to sign him and they had no real alternative. And they knew it. So they used Saudi's offer as a leverage. And it actually worked. If Lukaku hadn't a change of mind Chelsea would have got 40m from his sale.
