Many times I forget that he's on the pitch.

Meh, tbh he was okay, he fought for the ball in the game (until everything got messy at the end).

The problem is just that we cannot have both him and Vecino on at the same time.

No sense of urgency in his playing. Like a Sunday stroll
Needs to go back to Atalanta

I think he was our best mid yesterday if we can label someone as "best" whatsoever. He was good defensively and that's all. The disbalance and disharmony of out midfield when Vecino - Gags --- Valero are playing is obvious.
He was much better with pure and powerful DM like KOndogshit at his side. For me he's very similar with Vecino and only one of them should be a starter.

At least he isn’t Rano :)

And to think some of us bitched about not having enough Italaians so they troll us with him and Candeva

useless, lazy, slow. He is slower and run even less than Valero. Neither good at defending nor passing forward. Sometimes he was just invisible, like we play with 10 men. We have some useless players but this guy is the most useless. Even KDog, Valero, Joao Mario and Gabigol (if he is given more chances) are better. He had some decent games (not really brilliant) last season, but this season, I haven't seen one from him. Not a patch of poor form, but more than half of a season of shit. And looks like he doesn't even try hard.
Hope we can ship him out asap.

How was Gabigol better? Also, keep in mind that everyone was shitting on Kdog last season, and Gagliardini was actually considered our best midfielder when he came, so I don't see how Kdog was better (they actually played fairly well together).

He was ok for Genoa, nothing special, but I didn't see him being worse than Vecino or Valero. He actually does have some things he brings like being good in the air and winning balls. At this point, Valero is the most useless for me, because he can only pass sideways, is too slow to even control a ball being passed ahead of him, can't win a single challenge, and doesn't bring anything at all to the team.

Don't get me wrong though, all of our midfielders are incredibly slow. That can be seen as soon as Rafinha comes in.

I thought Defensive phase of the game vs genoa he was pretty good he just doesnt have confidence going forward. That can be said about most of our team though.

Really don't think you can call Gagliardini lazy.

He's lost his confidence since nainggolan beat him last season, and then we bashed him because he was watching Rube v Barca

Gag can only win ball if it comes right at him. He stays close to the central and hardly roams around, yet if the opponent is only a few meters away, he could never chase/reach them. Look like me chasing Usain Bolt. He can still be effective if he has great anticipation to be in the right place like Cambiasso but he doesn't. He's not really physical superior either, won only 50% of duels. How can he win the ball with such limitations?

How is he worse than Valero and Vecino? Look at some stats sites. Stats hardly lie especially when it comes to central midfielders. All stats sites show Gag is worse than Vecino and Valero. I don't need them to know which players are good or bad, yet it's the easiest way to show you. For example, http://www.squawka.com/players/roberto-gagliardini/stats

Gag's overall score: 22 games, 161 points
Vecino: 23 games, 307 points
Valero: 25 games, 395 points

The difference is too obvious.

All of our midfielders are "support" type. They can't be the main midfielders, need to play alongside midfielders that are better at either defending or attacking. We need a healthy Rafinha and need to bring Torreira in. Valero and Vecino can be decent with support role alongside them.

What is the context of those stats though? I don't see any explanation of what a defensive action I or how it's measured? Also it shows Candreva to be out 3rd best player yet no one here feels that way. It also seems like you get more points the more games you play so someone like Rafinha and Karamoh will probably be rated worse than some of our crappier players.

Looking at those stats, Ranocchia is better than J. Cancelo and Karamoh lol

Yea, but when Inter only have two good outfield players then being the third isn't much of an achievement.

We could have saved 50 millions on Gagliardini and Vencino and just kept Benassi and Duncan years ago...

This season should be called " The Rise of Joao Cancelo and The Fall of Gagliardini". or "Gagliardini who miss Kondogbia".

It's the score for overall performance. It takes account of every action on the pitch and calculate the score with an algorithm.

Yes, you get more points the more games you play, that's why I included the number of games which are similar, not too much different, unlike their score.

It sounds strange but Candreva might be the 3rd best player in our team, regarding contribution from the start of the season. Skriniar is 1st (undebatable?), Icardi is 2nd. What is the 3rd?
Maybe Handanovic, but let's not count him in because sometimes goalkeepers don't involve much in the games and the score for keepers is always different from outfield players.
All midfielders are average or shit. Same for left backs. Dambrosio is just ok, same for Miranda, he's not too bad but made a lot of mistakes. Karamoh, Cancelo and Rafinha have only played a few games so far. That leaves us with Perisic and Candreva. As frustrating as they have been recently, they had some good and decent games in the first half of the season.
