Yeah but to be honest we have some promising youngsters, the problem is that mess of a football club is not available to do anything right with them. For example Gnoukouri is already doing better than the likes of Brozovic yet we will probably decide to loan the former instead and get an old fart like Melo.

Our youth is not bad, the management is.

I'd hardly say we did anything wrong with Balotelli, it was his errors that caused the issue. We propelled him onto the international stage, placed faith in him after scoring 2 vs Juve in the Coppa Italia, and gave him PLENTY of chances.

You cant blame the management for everything. The only one (off the top of my head) of our recent youth prospects who have done well after leaving Inter is Bonucci really

Its also possible that our youth are not as good as we think they are. Until the likes of Benassi or Duncan prove that is not the case, we have to consider that as a possibility. Bonucci could be an exception, that can happen. Darmian was a Milan youth player.

Also, it takes years of a consistent, focussed approach to develop a youth project, at Inter that seems very unlikely. Ours is a constantly confused youth project, with ever changing priorities trickling down from the confused management of the senior squad. One day the senior manager asks the youth coach to develop wing backs, the next day you have a new manager who wants full backs, etc etc... we know the drill.

The management needs to define a vision, and a playing style. That needs to be incorporated into every age group, starting from the senior squad. And coaches need to be hired based their suitability to that style, so that a coaching change does not impact the project negatively. Smart clubs like Barca, Porto, Udinese do just that, which is why they develop players so well.
