According to Sky, Cagliari have made an offer to keep Nainggolan but Inter are taking their time and for now the player is returning to Inter. I have a feeling they want to see if they can get Vidal or not.

the Cagliari president and also some other sources "confirmed" that he want's to stay at Cagliari. A lot of users here said why we are not keeping Radja instead getting Vidal, well, that's the reason.

The only realistic option here is a player swap, no? They can't afford to give us the price we need to avoid a capital loss.

Who from Cagliari would we want? Maybe they can give us a break on Barella payments?

They wanted loan+ option?? Get rekt Cagliari FC, Radja had a good season 6G, 7A. They can pay in 2 installments.

I hope the management won't bend. Same with other transfer listed players. Dalbert, Vecino etc

Cragno (GK) or Nandez (CM) probably, only these player has the higher market value. I think Barella payments already done since it's an obligation.
Currently Radja's net value is estimated at €19m and has massive impact on our season balance €17.7m, second to Lukaku. It seems losing him on capital loss is inevitable.

If the latest offer was just an option to buy, let's be real, Cagliari won't pay it. They probably wait until his contract runs out in two years.

now Sky says that he could stay and try to convince Conte, with or without Vidal.

Im suprised if he stays, from what i know he only want's to stay at Cagliari. Would be interesting to have Vidal and Radja, as long we really sell Valero.

I think you mean Vecino? Valero`s contract is about to expire in the next couple of hours..
According to Alfredo Pedulla of Sport Italia, at this moment, there are no margins for Radja Nainggolan to return to Cagliari despite the strong desire to keep him coming from the Rossoblu.

The Belgian will return to Inter as early as tomorrow to start training with Antonio Conte (he’ll come back next Monday) and there is great enthusiasm coming from the midfielder as well as the approval from the Inter coach.

Two massively important factors given that he was sent off to Cagliari last summer mostly because of his personality. Now, both sides have hit the reset button and, again, there are no margins for his return to Cagliari simply because the operation would be very expensive.

Conte has agreed to keep the Belgian and Nainggolan is happy to make himself available. We will see what the future holds but the present, it is only Inter.

> I think this is just a strategy to determine Cagliari to do an obligation.

Can't imagine Cagliari tabling the offer without Radja's clear intention to stay there.

I think Radja has a clear intention to stay there. Issue is the value he has in our balance sheet. We cannot sell him with great loss. I believe we might take some loss just to get rid of the salary and the amortization cost next season. Or some loan + obligation to buy, take the amortization cost for this season with the loan and then they buy him next summer so that we don't get any loss. Maybe they can also spread the salaries to one extra year or something.

You know the funniest thing about all of this....we would have won a trophy if we kept Radja this season

We don`t know what Radja wants. I wonder what is the health status of his wife - reason for him moving there in the 1st place?

Sky: Radja Nainggolan will attempt to convince Inter manager Antonio Conte upon his return to the club. Inter and Cagliari had a meeting yesterday to discuss a potential new deal for the Belgian but no agreement was found and he will return to the Nerazzurri, at least for the time being.

The report goes on to explain that Nainggolan will make himself fully available to former Italian national team boss Conte and is aiming to convince him and this is his aim regardless of whether or not Inter manage to add Arturo Vidal to their ranks soon.

Nobody can tell this, but I`m sure we could have benefitted from his contribution, especially that Vidal was not signed - not even in January. As for now, we need to see how much willing he is to sit on the bench.

Happy he is staying and fighting for his spot on the team.....for now. Hope he sticks, plays lot and saves us lots of money on a rushed deal that would have potentially been a disaster.

I really don’t care what anyone says, even a chain smoking Nainggollan would have done significantly better than some of the traffic cones we have in this team. Good that he’s back to work into the team.

Lol you are getting too optimistic on this.
Nothing has changed from last year and Ausilio said this clearly.

The club has never doubted his skill but his behavior and he must have done stupid things quite often. Ausilio said that if he is willing to behave more as per club rules he will have a place but that will never happen.
N9 won't change his character now , he has never shown any sing of regret in the past and in every interview has accepted the fact that he won't become the "role model" football player if that means to change the way he lives his life out of trainings.

It's not that we can't accept 1 player to misbehave , but if you allow him that , what authority would you have as a club agains other players in case they start to misbehave as well . Especially if you add Vidal to the mix :)

According to Sky, Cagliari have made an offer to keep Nainggolan but Inter are taking their time and for now the player is returning to Inter. I have a feeling they want to see if they can get Vidal or not.

Nainggolan used to be a very Vidal style of player a few years ago, but he isn't anymore. He is slower, and looked lost during his Inter stint. Even at Cagliari, he really shone as the midfielder sitting on top of the defence, much deeper than he used to at Roma. So now, I can see a midfield with both Vidal and Nainggolan.

IMO Conte should give Nainggolan a chance at Inter. He could be a quality back up for Brozovic (or Kante, if rumours are to be believed). He will do that role much better than Gags can ever dream of. Perhaps the reason why Inter are keeping Naionggolan on hold is to see what happens with Kante. If we get Kante, we will sell Nainggolan. If we can't afford Kante, we will get Nainggolan as an alternative to Brozovic. That is my guess.

I like the look of this in Conte's system:

Young - Vidal - Barella - Hakimi
Nainggolan

He started the season there but then moved in more advanced position where he started to score again. His ball distribution actually was great in those few highlights of calgiari i've seen

If we get Kante, we will sell Nainggolan. If we can't afford Kante, we will get Nainggolan as an alternative to Brozovic. That is my guess.

But it's the opposite actually. If we sell N9 and the rest then we can get Kante. Otherwise we are stuck with N9

WHo would trust a declining player like Naiiggolan in front of defenders? If Conte does it then he is sealing his fate. I hope he would make this mistake though because I don’t think Conte is the coach we are waiting for. So the more mistakes he makes the better.

I'd still take a drunk Nainggolan over Gagliardini any day.
