Yeah, this is great...

And i believe that he will come back some day, if not now, for 2-3 years, yes... By that time he will develop himself more than he is now... And he would be perfect! :)

Legend. :proud:

And some of you doubted where his thread should be located. :irritate:

Martins will always remain as my favorite non-Inter player. :star:

How does that make him a legend?? The kid is a great lad but his performances on the field wasn't good enough to make him a legend. If he is a legend so is Adriano.

goal.com is pretty good at making headlines that make you read the articles. They called it "Martins returns to Inter" and I thought we had bought him :p

Anyway, nice to see him. I always get nostalgic when I see former players who had nice moments.

Oba was one of those players and characters you kick yourself from being such a God awful football player. You just REALLY want him in your team, but his lack of skills prevents it.

U can tell, that he's a Interista at heart and always seems so happy when he's with inter.

I love all the nostalgic posts about Martins. In my opinion, Newcastle United as a club better suits his playing ability than Inter. Serie A's defenders had Martins well and truly worked out. Take away his pace and he has nothing. Scoring against the likes of Wigan counts for very little.

As much as it was good to see him return to say hello to his teammates, I do not think he is the calibre of player that Inter should have playing upfront.

I think it's not a matter of his "caliber" as a player, but rather that he has small balls. From what I see, he has the confidence to try some riskier plays when he's with Newcastle; he seems calmer too. All this make him a better player with Newcastle.

I think Oba just choked under the pressure that comes with donning the Nerazzurra jersey, where he just seemed nervous in every touch of the ball.

It's a shame that he can't do the same thing with us, but his outgoing transfer was surely a win-win situation, since we got Ibrahimovic to replace him. All the best of luck to Oba, uno di noi per sempre! :proud:

Maybe Martins, Mario and Messi can play together one day?

Oh, a man can dream right! The only reason I say it is because for some reason, I think Ibra will leave for Barca ONE DAY, and the only thing I would accept (and Moratti too, I hope) in return, is of course, Lleonel Messi, the greatest Argentinian in the game not playing for Inter!

Martins Rocked By Mum's Death

Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins has put his pre-season on hold following the tragic death of his mother…

Alhaja Monsurat Martins died in the early hours of Thursday morning while fleeing her Lagos apartment after a petrol tanker burst into flames nearby. The 62-year-old had been attempting to move her car to a safer spot, and it is believed her death was shock-related.

Obafemi Martins was inconsolable after hearing the news, and will miss Toon’s upcoming friendly against Doncaster Rovers after travelling to Nigeria last night to be with family and friends.

The Super Eagles star was famously close to his mother. In fact, his international career came under threat in February 2007 after he skipped a clash against Ghana because he was concerned about his mum’s health.

Biola Martins, Obafemi’s brother, said in The Sun: “Oba was closer to our mother than anyone else in the family. He just wanted to get on the plane and find out for himself that our mother is truly no more.

“He’s still in shock and disbelief and feels terribly down. Oba always consulted her first in any decision to do with his career.

“Our mother stood by him when everyone else condemned his decision to dump school in pursuit of an unpredictable future in football.”

The ex-Internazionale forward will attend the funeral, which is to be held on Friday.
